Liquid Eggs?

So, FI was at Costco yesterday and got some of their "Real Egg" liquid egg stuff. It says it's 99% egg whites, but made to look/taste like whole eggs. For 1/4 c. it's 30 calories, 0 fat and 6g protein. So... a couple of questions: Can I use this in baking/cooking in place of whole eggs? And if so, how much (1/4c?) is considered one egg?Also, what's your favorite liquid egg use? I can't really eat them plain/salted like scrambled eggs, because I'm not a huge fan.Thanks!

    I dont wanna sound rude but Im curious how its 99% egg, yet has absolutely no fat in it. A regular egg has anywhere from 5-7g in it, and I dont think that even equals a quarter cup. Are there any preservatives in the ingredient list (if there is one)?I would think liquid eggs would be GREAT for ommlettes. I love adding spinach, sauted mushrooms, cheddar cheese and chopped up broccoli florets in my ommlettes.

  • They're 99% egg whites. Ingredient list: egg whites (99%), less than 1%: natural flavor, color, spices, xanthan gum, salt, onion powder.I'm guessing they have a little bit of fat in them... but if you're under a certain amount (less than 1/2g I think), you don't have to list it on the ingredient list.

    That'd do it! I dont know if I could give up egg yolks. I know theyre not the best for you but god do they taste good.
  • These are a staple for me. Yes, 1/4c. does equal one egg, and of all the things I've baked with them, everything comes out great. When I eat them (same breakfast every day), I eat one serving of liquid eggs with one pouch of instant butter flavor grits. I mix it all together in a bowl with a slice of low fat cheese, and my whole breakfast is less than 200 calories.

  • This is just the generic of Eggbeaters. I use them all the time. Omelettes and also I make "egg sandwiches" on english muffins with them. you just to make it like an omelette, fold in half and then in half again. I put low fat cheese on the eng muffin. It's like an egg McMuffin but for 3 points!  I use them in recipes too. No problems so far.
