Hello Knottie's! I have decided to forgo the traditional wedding and semi-elope (with immediate family.) We should be a small group. I have never been to vegas and am super excited. I currently live in NC.

We have decided to elope in Aug. We are leaning towards the Hilton La Bella Chapel because we can get a DVD of the ceremony and all copyright to the photos on CD. I always hate when you can't retain copyright. We have also looked at Scenic Las vegas weddings. We are looking at Aug. 12, a Thursday. I know that is right around the corner! Yikes!

We originally were thinking around 7pm for the ceremony, but the hilton is booked up. Do you think 6pm will be too hot in August to be outside? I really want to do an outside wedding, but I can be persuaded to go inside if need be.

We want to stay at Planet Hollywood because we are big movie buffs.

    Hello and welcome! I think 6pm would be okay, especially since ceremonies aren't terribly long, if it is hot you could handle it for 15-20 mins  :)

    Welcome to the board!  Everyone here is very helpful and will be able to answer a lot of the questions you have.  You can check out the sticky on the main page of the board of all the LV knotties to see if anyone has had a wedding at any of the venues you are looking at, just so you have a little more information about those specific venues!  Good luck with everything!

    Hola and welcome!  I think even 7pm in August would be pretty hot. Maybe provide cold water bottles to the guest.  Even 15 minutes in 90+ degree weather would be much.

    I agree with Olivea...we were just out there a weekend ago and it was hot at 10:00 at night (which I was a-ok with, but FI gets a bit warm).  I think 6:00 would be a good time because I'm guessing you don't want to get into too late a start time.  Congratulations and welcome, BTW!

    6 or 7pm will be HOTT like triple digit hot. Stay inside as much as possible. I would have looked like a sweaty mess if my wedding was outside in August at 7pm, but hello and welcome!

    We were able to get the Hilton outside at 7pm after all. Somebody canceled. Now I am thinking of switching it to inside though, which was also available? Hmm.. decisions.

    Welcome , and i agree 6pm in the dead of August may be HOT!   You are going to love staying at Planet Hollywood. We stayed there for our wedding and absolutely loved it! Its such a fun Hotel.  Happy Planning.
