I use to watch it all the time and I happened to catch part of the marathon today while DH was napping :-)  I agree, sometimes they don't always get the prettiest/most flattering dress......and I can NOT believe how much some of those people spend on their dress!!! I saw an episode today where it was $24,500--that is INSANE...no offense to anyone, but I just think it's ridiculous to spend thousands and thousands of $$ on a dress.  I mean, that girl could've bought a car!  Okay, sorry about the rant, but yes I love that show :o)

yes, 24k is a bit crazy, but she ended up getting the sample for a miniscule 15k haha...that is more than my entire wedding budget. but the cheaper ones (probably in the 3-4 thousand range) i can understand a little bit more because the cost of living is so much higher there and things are a lot more expensive. i think some of the "high fashion" dresses look terrible. i'm glad i'm not the only one that watchs this show. my fiance as laughing at me ;)

I love that show! It always cracks me up how I love my $600 dress (with alterations thank you!) so much more than their 24k dress. I often think that they have to TRY to spend that much on a dress! Like pp, the 3 to 4k i could maybe understand with cost of living etc, but wow! I think that my one piece of advice to anyone (with or without a budget) would be to start on the low side because you might find the dress of your dreams (or anything- flowers, cake) for way less than you thought.
