On Saturday, my mom and I met with our cake decorator (Robbi Broussard) in Renton.  She's fabulous and adorable and her cakes are absolutely beautiful...and she's totally the opposite of the not-so-amazing Cake Weasel (okay, not so much mature to call him names, but I'm still bitter) in Redmond.We got everything figured out and set up and the whole thing was just such a much more fun, relaxing, and enjoyable experience than the last one.  :)The BEST part about Robbi is that she's done a very notorious wedding cake:Mary Kay Letourneau's!!And oh yes, in case you're wondering, it was the wedding to Vili Fualaau...her student!!!!!  :)When Robbi told us about this, she totally even dug through some things on her desk to pull out the "People" magazine in which Mary Kay's wedding was featured (complete with a picture of Mary Kay, Vili, and the cake, with Robbi's name in the caption!

    Haha!! I'm glad you had a good meeting! Random fact... Mary is very sweet! She frequents this bar that a friend of mine frequents and I've visited a few times. She is the sweetest lady and I didn't even know it was her the first couple times I met her. And Vili djs there..... can't stand him.Do you guys think I'm weird now??

    So i am REALLY curious what is up with the Amazing in Redmond? My FI and I haven't started cake tasting and I really want to know why you are bitter? That worried me when I read it cause I thought he might be the one! Warn me please!!

    Mike's was HORRIBLE to us, and Champagne Supernova hit it RIGHT on the head.  I highly recommend NOT going there.Robbi's shop is called Creative Cake Designs, and it's on 108th in Renton (across the street from Safeway, and right next to the Cowgirl's coffee stand).  She's terrific!!

    I'm using Mikes and we've had great customer service there, and we have been there several times since and dealt with most of the staff--I have heard mixed reviews from them before, but have yet to experience the bad side.  I'm glad you found someone that worked for you though.

    mans714 - I used Robbi for my wedding last weekend.  I thought her cakes were by far the best ever!!!!!!!!!!! everyone commented on yummy the cake was.  We even got an extra sheet cake for the brunch at my parents house on Sunday.   I highly recommend her!!  She's awesome.
