Well Suited: Two Thumbs Up!

Hey ladies-I just thought I would give a shout out to a store where we had a terrific experience this weekend for buying FI's suit and a suit for his son for our wedding. Well Suited on NE Broadway in Portland, which is a men's resale/consignment shop (but they also sell some new suits). The owner, Henry, was super helpful, their prices are amazing (FI bought a beautiful Prada suit that would retail in the high hundreds for less than $200), and their tailor seems incredibly competent (voted best alteration shop in PDX by W. Week two years in a row). Just thought I'd put the word out there. We were sure that we were going to end up at Nordstrom and while that would have been fine, we were just as happy to save some $, give the business to a local store, and avoid the mall.

    We used Well Suited also and LOVED it!  But, we had an awful experience with the tailor there.  We tried to pick up the suit twice after alterations, once they had forgotten to finish and the second time it wasn't done right.  It was two days before the wedding at this point.  We took it in to a men's tailor shop and the guy said he couldn't fit it perfectly, that the other tailor had basically ruined the suit.  No one noticed that it wasn't fit to a tee, but it was disappointing to have bought a suit my husband wanted to own for life and have all that headache about it and it never really fit well.  :(I was also a little disappointed that I had to argue with the owner over refunding the alteration fee.  We did get a great price on the suit and the owner was wonderful in every other way, but the fitting process sucked.

    Oh, that is so interesting and good to know! We'll see how it goes with the tailoring this week and I'll be sure to post an addendum if we have a nightmare too. Thx for posting about it!
