disappointed?

hi ladies -

i know this is kind of a downer post - but i was wondering if you have had any frustrations/disappointments with your planning. Our string quartet bailed on our contract yesterday because i asked if we could include a guitar in one of the songs and he was frustrated he wasn't going to be the "only show" etc... so now we're in a bind and for some reason it makes me feel sad - he also threatened that we probably wouldn't be able to find another string quartet because of our date which is really freaking me out.

have you all had any moments like this - it's funny how one thing can bumm you out....

thanks for listening : )

Oh i hear ya. We have been having trouble becasue we had to get an annullment of my fiances first marriage and so we are planning two weddings incase the church wedding doesnt come through. Very stressful. Have you thought about having some other kind of music. I know that this doenst help but you will figure it out. i have started taking a deep breath and a long bath and everything will seem better once I have done that

try contacting the ISU music department, maybe they can hook you up with someone :) good luck!!!

I haven't really had any disappointments besides the fact that I thought I had an AWESOME budget and now it is turning out that it doesn't go as far as I thought... ugh... the real world!

try not to let it get you down. there are lots of vendors out there who will want your business if the d-bag refuses to play with anyone else.

i agree with the pp about ISU music department.

I totally understand. My planner at the hotel asked me 10 days before my wedding if we could switch our banquet room because the other bride has too many people and she wants to switch us to a smaller area and the other bride would have part of our space. It's now one week before our wedding and we have no clue what room we will be in!

@duchessdina - if you don't mind me asking what hotel is this with?  I think that's out of line for them to ask something like that so close to the wedding.  Was that room something you had in your contract?

Try Ames Wedding Quartet, they are doing my wedding which in May of 2011. They seem to be very professional and easy to work with thus far.
