Planning time line, in REAL life...

Well I know the knot has a "planning" time line, but what did everyone else think of it?? I feel like some of the people I have been looking at, such as florists and photog's I don't wanna miss a good op if I like them, but at the same time some are already booked! Please let me know how everyone else did with the planning process because I still feel like my head is spinning!

I used it as a guide...but somethings I did way earlier and there are about 15 alarm clocks on mine that I have not done and won't be doing for another week or so...I like it because it brought to my attention things that I wouldn't have thought about!

I totally agree with PP.  I've been using it mostly as a guideline.

My "plan" is to have the officiant, photog, videographer and harpist booked within the next 2 months....think thats good?? For a September 25 2010 wedding??I have the reception/cermony site, the transportation, the hotel block, the DJ, hair/makeup DONE....Figured I'd wait until after Jan to book the cake and flowers...

I preferred the checklist on www.weddingwire.com Use it as a guide - always better to be ahead than behind :)

I like to get things done as soon as possible.  I'm 10 months out but pretty much have all the main vendors taken care of.  I just use the timeline to make sure I didn't forget anything.  I'm sure when it gets closer to W-day it will help a lot more.  If you want to get things done before it suggests, go for it.  Do what makes you comfortable.  There is nothing wrong with doing things early.  Takes the stress off in my mind.
