where did you find the best deal on your dress?

I am overwhelmed by all of the bridal stores in town.  I have no idea when I am going to find the time to make it to all of them, but I will to get the best price. I am looking for a Maggie Sottero or Sottero & Midgley dress. Please let me know what bridal store you found to have the best prices. Thank you in advance :-)

I tried my dress on at David's Bridal, and then I purchased it online from another bride off of ebay. My dress was originally $1000, and I purchased it for $650.  You could probably do the same if you have a specific dress you would like to buy.  The salon might even price match for you.

I did the same thing. I went to a bridal salon, got the style number & bought it online for $600 less from a used bridal gown online store.

Netbride.com, Pearl'sPlace.com, and RKbridal.com, once you find the dress you want, style # and all, will all price match. All three have excellent reputations, and are actual brick and mortar stores in Minnesota, New Orleans and NYC, respectively. I ordered all of my BM dresses via Netbride, and had I not found my gown for a steal from a 2-dress bride, would have ordered my dress from them as well. Then, you take it to Janet Kirkman for alterations. ;)

Thanks for all of the great advice girls. Were any of you scared ordering your dresses online?

I purchased a second dress online for our at home reception, when we were planning on getting married in Hawaii.  It was from jcrew's line, and I never tried it on before.  The bride claimed to have only worn it for a photo shoot, but when I got it in the mail it smelled terrible and looked terrible.  I think this had to do with the fact that the dress was really low quality, and she probably had it wadded up on her closet floor.  Make sure you try it on before hand, so you can see how it fits, the quality of the material, and if it is actually what you wanted.  Buying online is a risk, but for my first bridal gown, it was completely worth it. I'm hoping to sell the other, but I feel guilty selling the smelly thing ha ha

Azteca had the best price on my Maggie in town.  Before I found their price I was going to purchase through Jaysbridal.com  That's where I got my BM dresses and they were awesome to work with!

cjwilli2 - How was you experience with Azteca?

I got mine at David's as well.  I found one that not only did I love, but it was on sale and then had an additional percentage off because a bride had just returned it (she bought it, never had it altered and then her wedding was cancelled)So, I got a $1275 dress for just about $295 and then had to pay $235 for alterations (HA)

MissFallon- It wasn't great, but not bad.  It was literally a transaction.  I knew the gown I wanted and called around to price it out.  Azteca was running a 20% off Maggie sale at the time so they beat everyone by about $200.  I went in to purchase it that week.  I didn't find the place to be very nice, the people weren't very friendly.  But my dress was affordable and came in just as expected.  I viewed it totally as a transaction, there was no trying on gowns or anything for me there.  It was a meh experience.  If it weren't for the price I would have gone somewhere else for sure.

I ordered my dress off of www.houseofbrides.com and only paid $200 for my dress. It is supposed to come mid-October and I'm crossing my fingers that it will get here okay. I am a little bit nervous...never done that before...but can't be that bad. They seemed reputable. I guess I will have to keep you Knotties posted on this website/dress. :)

Wow.. I wish I knew about these sites before I purchased my dress! I went to I do, I do, Azteca and An Affair To Remember. I ordered my dress from An Affair to Remember because of their customer service (they give you full attention since its a small boutique and they only schedule one appt per hr). I haven't seen or tried my dress before because none of the stores had it.. so I tried similar styles and decided to order the one I fell in love with online. Its suppose to arrive this week. I'm so excited, can't wait!  I didn't have a great experience at I do and Azteca, but Azteca definitely has a huge selection and the best prices. Good luck!

Go to Kaira's Bridal which is at Metro Center (by souper salad). My Maggie was over $400 less than the other places in town. They are super friendly and have been great to work with. They also have a huge selection of bridesmaids dresses and your girls will get 10% off and same with Tux rentals.

Agree with PP about Kaira's.  The store that I tried my dress on in, they wanted about $700.  At Kaira's, we only paid $500, plus they give you a free pressing of your dress and, if for some reason you don't like your dress, you can exchange it with no problems.

I have found that Azteca will give you the best price, even if they don't normally carry the dress you want.  I went and tried on dresses at multiple stores and when I found the dress I wanted I wrote down the information from the tag.  I gave that information to Azteca and they were able to order my dress for $140 less than I could find it anywhere else.  I did find my dress cheaper online but ordering online just made me too nervous.  I will warn you that Azteca doesn't have the best customer service- some of the women are great but some are rude and clueless.  If you can look past that, though, you will get a great deal!
