NWR: Twilight books

So I just started the Twilight series a week or 2 ago, finished Twilight on Sunday and plan on starting New Moon this weekend.  I'm not a huge reader, but I swear I am addicted to this story!!  I've never gotten so into a book before in my life!  I can't focus at work, I keep daydreaming, and I really just want to get home so that I can keep going!  I have a friend who said she was the same way (the one I'm borrowing the books from), is it normal?  Not even planning a wedding seems romantic anymore compared to a fictional romantic vampire, lol.  I'm afraid that once I'm finished with book 4 I'm going to be sad going back to real life.  Just sharing my newest obsession :-)

LOVE THEM!! I'm on the 4th one now and I will def be sad when it is over :(  But at least we have the movies to look forward to, even if they're not as good as the book!  I was actually borrowing the books from my fiance's sister once she would finish each one. She took awhile on the 4th so a co-worker gave me her books that the HBO show True Blood is based on. I finished 2 of those in no time and am now hooked on those!  It's COMPLETELY different than Twilight but sooo good!  I feel like I'm turning into a vampire addict or something, lol   But if you feel you need something else to get into, these might be good, theres 8 total!

I never had any interest in reading Harry Potter either, but I started watching True Blood and really like that show and decided maybe I should see the Twilight movie, but wanted to read the book first.  Totally not expecting to love it as much as I did!  But as I was reading it I really kept thinking, man I wish this was my life!  And now I am hooked...

I'm definitely going to need something to distract me and get me off of the Twilight series once I'm finished with the last book, I was thinking of maybe trying that series next, thanks for the rec!  And it makes me feel not quite as insane (partially for having a crush on a *character*) to know that some of you are just as hooked.

LOL I devoured Twilight, too, but then I got into the Sookie Stackhouse books and have found that I enjoy those even more.  Twilight was fun at the time, but the Southern Vamp series is my obsession.

I definately felt the same.  I read all of the books in a very short period of time.  I just couldn't put it down.  After I was finished, I was really sad.  I have no clue why I was.  So excited for the other movies to come out.  Stephanie Meyer was actually working on another Twilight Saga book.  It's Twilight from Edward's perspective.  Partial manuscript got leaked so she stopped writing for it and posted what she did have done on her website.  Just a little FYI

My friend told me about the Midnight Sun partial book on her website so I already read that one too!  I hope that eventually she decides to finish it and maybe write some more from his point of view.  Just as sad when I finished that one as I was when I finished Twilight though.  I can't wait to get my hands on the next one this weekend!

I'm am so glad to hear I'm not the only one :) I was completely obsessed with Harry Potter (I read the last book in a single day) and then reluctantly started reading Twilight. I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the hype. I still don't think it holds a candle to Harry (sorry!) but it was extremely addictive. I only wish that New Moon wasn't part of the series. I understand that it held some significant character development (um, Jacob for sure) and it set the tone for the coming events, but it could have been whittled down to a chapter or two and stuck into Eclipse. I just hated reading that many pages of Bella's whining. For anyone out there who's going through Twilight withdrawls, check out The Time Traveler's Wife (the movie's coming out in a couple weeks). I'm half way through it right now and it's very very good. It has the same element of a believably supernatural guy in love with an ordinary girl. Great love story, great story in general...can't wait to see how it ends but at the same time I don't want it to!

I agree about the Time Traveler's Wife!  I read that a few years ago and remember thinking to myself "they should really make a movie of this!"  Needless to say I'm super excited they did and can't wait to see it!! :)
