Save the Dates

I'm thinking about going with a post-card style STD. Opinions please - is it okay to send them out as is or should they really be in an addressed envelope? Please let me know. Thanks.

I think it is okay. Maybe if you were trying to go a more formal route your could send them in an envelope. The only thing I have heard about the post card type is when they go through the machine at the post office sometimes stuff on the front and/or back may get a little messed up.

    I think either is fine.

I think postcards are definitely less formal, so it depends on what kind of "feel" you're going for. I've also heard of some people having trouble with them getting destroyed en route because they're not protected. But some people have used them without any problems.

I was invited to a wedding last year that sent out postcard STDs and they were very nice (wasn't messed up from machine). I also agree that it a less formal feel. HTH!

They are less formal, but I am definitely doing postcards. They are cheaper and I think most of them look great.
