Mayfair Farms

Hi all, I'm recently engaged and looking into Mayfair Farms as a possible reception site. Does anyone have any information they can give me. Whats pricing like, how many weddings are at one time. What are the rooms like? etc. My minimum is 150pp and my budget is around 25k. It might increase or decrease depending on whats included in the price. Thanks all!!

Congrats on your engagement. My sister got married at Mayfair in 2006 and it was wonderful. She paid about 125 pp (including tax and grat) and it included everything!! Her cocktail hour was amazing. Typically they do 2 events at a time however for my sister's wedding she had the whole place to herself. She had around 300 people . Cocktail hour was in the downstairs room and dinner was upstairs. The room when you first walk in was where the bridal party ate and relaxed and had their own separate CH. Service wise they were phenomenal!! They opened up cocktail hour about a 1/2 hour earlier and let us party for an extra half hour after. Whatever we needed they provided. My brother-in-law thought he saw someone with crab-cakes that he asked the MD. Even though it wasn't on the menu (someone had something else not crabcakes) they made him fresh ones on the spot. Overall, my family loved MF but I just didnt want to get married in the same place. Hope this helps!

We went there to check it out last yr.....nice place, the downstairs room was a bit dated for my tastes but if you are creative with your decorating I think it can work. I liked the downstairs room better because you get use of the patio for the cocktail hour and the whole night. It overlooks the grounds which are really nice, and they even said they could direct the guests outside through the garden to the cocktail hour instead of them walking through the front door inside. Food reputation is very good, and when we visited the service was above average.....they gave you the feeling that if something went wrong the day of....it would be taken care of. I didn't get that feeling at most of the places we visited.

We had looked there in the beginning and I really liked it. We were looking at the bottom room and were quoted around $100/pp for a 150 person min. This was for a Friday in May, which I thought was great since it was May. We loved the downstairs because as pp said the outside grounds are beautiful. They will even have some of the cocktail stations outside if you want. We decided not to go with it because we didnt like the idea that if it rained our guests would have no where to go other than the reception room (if you are downstairs). There was no real foyer for pics if it rained either. They do have a nice stairway that I have seen some cute pics of. HTH.

I looked at Mayfair Farms when we were searching for our venue. When I looked online I was in love with the place. But in person, like pp said, a little dated. They also told me starting at $65 pp over the phone and I'm not sure where they got that number from. For a Sunday in August we were quoted $90 pp. We also had to have our ceremony at 12pm. I think there was a flat fee for the ceremony - something like $450. But I can't remember. I do remember thinking the ceremony was over priced for what we saw other places offering. The girl we met with wasn't very pleasant so I think that added to my experience.

Thanks to all. I was quoted $110pp but not sure if that was in season or off season. I am leaning more towards the Tides now.

My sister got married at Mayfair Farms in '03 and it was phenomenal. The food was fab and everything was perfect. The maitre d' was amazing. Another NJ knottie who's now mostly on the Nest (Alyssa44) got married there in March, and she also had a terrific experience with them.

I was a guest at a wedding here. Only complaint was that the butlers did not pass around the hors derves during the cocktail hour well, I saw them maybe twice. There was a party going on downstairs but I only knew becuase I heard music when I went to the bathroom, otherwise I would never have known. Food was pretty good. The ceremony was outside near the parking lot which I didn't like either.

Upstairs room....tides is my vote.......but I'd pick mayfair over the downstairs room at the tides.

I am getting married at Mayfair June 2010. I haven't had any complaints so far. We are doing a Friday night with a 125 minimum and have the downstairs room.I have heard very good reviews on Mayfair, as I have the Tides, I think you can't go wrong with either.Let me know if you have any questions ~

We are getting married at Seton Hall, followed by a reception at Mayfair Farms on Sept. 19th - I think their pricing etc. was phenomenal. You really get your money's worth. I can't wait!
