Hey, I really like the designs of the cakes on the Dallas Affaires website, but I think you've mentioned before they were a little more expensive than most.  Do you remember how much it was per serving for your cake?  I need to see if they're even close to the budget...

Between what Maggiano's paid and what we paid, it probably cost about $850-900 for 125 servings.  While I am sure it's way more expensive than a lot of other places, it was a good splurge for us (originally, Maggiano's was going to cover the entire cost but they changed over to Dallas Affaires and we paid about half-ish).  I wouldn't completely discount them based on cost.  Please go and taste their cake.  Really, I still have people bringing up the cake (and that was three months ago now).  Oh, and that did include the cost of the flowers that were on my cake.  AND I had two dummy layers.

Phew that's a little steep, but I'll call them up and see what they can do for a pretty basic buttercream cake with a few fondant flower accents...

By the way if you go to their website and go to the wedding cake gallery, my cake is very similar to #25.

Really, it was delicious.  Her chocolate cake was not too dry and not too sweet and they do the cream cheese/Italian cream icing with the wedding cakes and the grooms cakes.  I just wish that I had gotten the groom's cake.  It was so delicious.

dallas affairs has some of the most amazing cake!!! however, they are a more pricey bakery...i used them for a birthday cake one year and got a single layer 10 inch round cake and 24 petit fours and spent about $130....it was very expensive for what i got, but you do get what you pay for...it was amazing, and the strawberry petit fours had everyone at the birthday talking

I called Dallas Affaires yesterday. They start at $4.00 per serving and go up from there.

Thanks amber!  I have $500 budgeted for a cake that feeds 100 people so that might be pushing it, but I'll give it a shot.

Donna,The only reason Maggiano's got them was because Dallas Affaires wanted some business.  Everyone's hurting due to the economy so it wouldn't hurt.  At least go eat it.
