Knotties who went to Craig's Cake Shop in Verona....

Did you take advantage of all the different flavor combos you can do with Craig's cakes? I'm feeling overwhelmed trying to decide. Everything was sooo yummy and I love the fact that you can have up to 4 layers of cake in each piece but I want to make sure I'm putting "like" flavors together. Craig rattled them off so fast my head was spinning!!

I'm doing two separate cakes at Craig's cakes:One is chocolate and vanilla cake, chocolate mousse, and cherriesThe other is a flourless chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, and raspberrySo, I'm not being too inventive, but I know they go together! What are you thinking of including?

We are also using Craigs Cakes, and yes we also feel overwhelmed!! I decided that we are going to pick what we want in our top tier of the cake (Chocolate, vanilla, choc fudge and oreos) BUT for the rest of the cake and sheet cakes we are going to let them put what flavors and fillings go best together we are picking those flavors but like you said I dont know what will go good with strawberry, you know?  They seemed excited when I told them we were going to let them match cakes and fillings that we choose. Good luck!

If you keep them in check it's not so bad :) We're doing:Chocolate cake, fudge, banana cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake. So it'll be chocolate, banana and fudge. Yum!And:Vanilla cake, vanilla mousse, vanilla cake, raspberry jam, chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake.So it'll be a slab of vanilla top, raspberry, chocolate bottom essentially.Hard to keep track, but I believe that's the order!

Well, the FI and I sat down last night and looked at all of our options. I think for the tier at the bottom I'm using the same ideas that my sister had for her wedding cake at Craigs....she has strawberry cake, choc mousse, and banana cake (banana split) then french van mousse, stawberry cake, key lime mousse, and vanilla cake brushed with tequilla (Craig calls this his margaritaville cake) The next tier we wanted to use the fruity flavored cakes because the FI really liked the lemon poppy seed cake and the peach cake...so we'll do lemon poppy, french vanilla mousse, lemon poppy, and then 2 layers of peach with FV mousse in between again. Our 6" and the sheet cake will be choc cake, rasp. jam, choc cake, rasp. cheesecake mousse, then vanilla cake. Of course, I'm going to email these ideas to the cake shop and if they offer any suggestions or tweaks I'll totally listen to them :) Or if you girls have opinions, let me know!! Who knew cake could have so many options!!!

I am!! All of our cakes are different and I'm so excited to offer our guests a variety. It was a little overwhelming trying to decide but I just sat down one night and decided. It helped because we'd ordered cakes from there before. If you want, I'll email you the list of cakes I put together. Email me: mcdonaldka@gmail.com
