Maid or Matron of honor if engaged?

So my wedding is in 10 months and my friend that i planned on asking to be my maid of honor recently got engaged. So do i ask her to be a Maid or Matron of Honor?I dont want anyone to think that if i ask her to be a Maid that i am upset about the engagement. What do i do?TIA,Lisa

    If she will be married at the time of the wedding, then she would properly be your Matron of Honor. If she will not be, then she would be your Maid of Honor. I don't think that anyone will be upset if you ask her to be your xyz of Honor - its a huge honor in itself, regardless of the prefix and I'm sure if you explain how they work, she'd understand completely :)
