Videographer questions?

Hey gals. Just wondering: What sorts of questions did you ask potential videographers? I'm setting up meetings with a few and am wanting to put together a list of things I should know about them. Also, if you know of any other good ones under $1000 for a full package (see my earlier post on this), please share!TIA!

    I wanted to be sure that they included the raw footage of our day and our love story (i guess just anytime they will be filming). I also wanted to know what happened if they were unable to make it for the day - did they have a replacement option, refund option, ect. Ask to see samples if you have not already - a full video vs segments or pieces of it. I also think its fun to know why they got into videography and especially in the wedding industry. What do they love about it - I think it shows when people are passionate about what they do vs just doing it for money.

    It was important for us that they had filmed in our venue before (the Como Conservatory) so that they were familiar with the layout and the good spots to stand. If they hadn't been there before, they'd need to be willing to do some homework. We also wanted to know how many videos we'd get, how much interraction they did with wedding guests and if we could request minimal levels, and what they did with the footage (put it to music, etc. which we didn't want). We also watched a few sample videos to make sure that their style meshed with our ideas.

    Ask about back-up of your video.  Do they keep a copy of your video?  If so, for how long and in what format? etc. etc.  Hopefully it would never come to that, but good to know ahead of time.

    I asked if they charged extra to do interviews of guests (they shouldn't) if they are already there and you paid for the time, this was an awesome addition to our video.
