Question about hostess gift

FMIL's friend from church is throwing us a shower at their church.  Do I get her a hostess gift?  If so, what would I get her?

Hmm, I guess probably so on the gift. I'm not good at suggestions though, sorry. Maybe a gift card? It's not super personal, but I personally get excited about picking out my own stuff!

I'm in the same boat, FMIL's best friend is throwing me a shower at her house, I dont know her well so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to get her. Maybe a nice basket of goodies from Bath & Body Works or some Godiva chocolates or something.

I have no idea Grace, I'm in the same boat as you.  So, I'm going tag along on this instead of making a new post.  All 4 of FI's aunts are having a couple's shower for us.  They asked us what we wanted them to do for our wedding (day of brunch, shower, etc) and I choose a shower since my only family in NC is my mom and I didn't think anyone else would throw a shower for us.  So do we need to get a present for all of them?

It is somewhat lame, but I gave my hostesses shower gel, lotion, and a poof...and I attached a little tag that said something like "Hoping your next shower is as good as mine was" or something of that nature...

I did a little bag with a loofa, shower gel, and some exfoliant, and attached this cute little poem... "For throwing my shower my gratitude pours, so here is a gift from my shower to yours. A loofa, exfoliant and some scrubby bubbles, I am so very thankful for all of your troubles.Having friends like you, I am so lucky, sorry I didn't include a little rubber ducky."Its corny but cute.

Definitely do gifts. We had quite a few showers. My mom took care of the hostess gifts. Here's what they were to the best of my knowledge. It all started to run together. Christmas shower - ornaments Shower/Luncheon - herbs (thyme, rosemary, basil) in pretty planters Kitchen Shower - dish towels that matched the hostesses kitchens and a goodie basket of marinades and oils Around the Clock Shower - cute magnet calendar/to do list notepads and pens Pampered Chef Shower - $25 Target GC Couples Shower - bath products Church Bridal Luncheon - donation to an orphanage in the names of hostesses Wedding Tea - really cute umbrellas (another shower themed gift and one of my favorites Couples Shower/Cocktail Party - wine club membership Lingerie Shower - Philosophy (my favorite bath products) "Thank You" gift set Bridesmaids Luncheon - We were running out of ideas so we reverted back to potted herbs Hope some of these help!
