cake places...

I know people have suggested some great bakeries for cakes before, mostly in the Portland area. My wedding is going to be in Bridgton. Anyone know of any good cake places in that area? I did a google search but didn't get much back.Will places in Portland deliver that far on the day of the wedding (a Saturday), or would I have to pick it up, or how does that work? Not sure there are any nearby bakers in Bridgton.

    My friend was married at Shawnee Peak and had a great cake. It was made by a woman in Bridgton. Let me find out if she is still baking. If she is I'll get her nmber to you. btw where in Bridgton?

    Ok just emailed her son and asked him. Will get back to you as soon as I hear. Did you pick any one to do your hair yet? Running with Scissors is excellent. They are in Bridgton.

    My cake baker is out of York but he's delivered cakes as far away as Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod! Plus his cakes are incredible and taste unreal!!His name is Owen Dyer and his bakery is called Confection Art.

    hello...i have a friend in oxford that does cakes, she is making mine and sample was amazing...will post pics when i get them...if you are interested let me know!! also, totally agree with jamie...just returned from Running with scissors, got my hair dyed and cut (4 days before my wedding..what am i crazy?) and i totally love it...they are doing all the ladies hair this weekend!!

    Runnning with Scissors:  they are doing my girls hair for 35$ each and makeup application for $5.00...the girls are bringing their own makeup...i believe that the bride is $55.00 which includes a trial run...and they charged for travel...my wedding is about 45mins from their shop...hope this is helpful...and yes, i will post some pics when its all over and done with!!
