Photographer (SW Iowa)

Hey everyone! Since this local board is about as close as it gets to my wedding location, I thought I would give it a try. As soon as my FI and I got engaged, we started booking everything right away. Since we are from a small town, there aren't many options so it wasn't too hard to pick! However, we are having NO luck finding a photographer. This is one area where I am willing to spend more of my budget because it is very important to me. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a photographer in Des Moines that is willing to travel (or one I can check into!) The wedding is about an hour and 20 minutes from Des Moines, so I know I'll be paying lots of money for traveling expenses, etc. Also, does anyone happen to know someone in the southwest Iowa area they would recommend for photography?!     Are you near Fairfield? We are using Greg Holland Photography and he is based there and is driving to Indianola for no travel fee. He is awesome! He and his wife have great personalities and love their art. You should check him out at greghollandphotography.com Good luck, Alicia

    I'm using Greg Holland too and my wedding is Ames, so I had to pay a small flate rate travel fee, but it wasn't much and still put his prices lower than what I was looking at.

    Where in SW IA are you? I am from NW MO. Have you tried Clarinda, or even into MO?     We are using Todd Hugen Photography.  www.toddhugenphotography.com. I know he travels, but I'm not sure what the charges are.

    Thanks for the ideas everyone! I've been checking all these photographers out & contacting some of them! I am from Corning, but my parents actually live in Clarinda now! So I was thinking about checking into some in Missouri, too!!

    It is two gals that work together. One is in Van Meter and the other Winterset. Their studio is in Van Meter. Corning wouldn't be too far from them. I have a friend getting married in Maryville, MO next weekend, I can find out who her photographer is if you would like, I know she does NW MO so why not SW IA :0.

    I would check out Nicole Thomas, photosbynicolethomas.com. Not sure if she travels or not, but she's a GREAT photographer. Paul Blaser is really good too. blaserphotography.com

    I am using Stephen Stark Photography and he is out of Indianola if I am remembering right. Loved his photos and he is willing to travel. His wife travels with him and is his assistant.
