There is nothing worse than an over-tanned winter bride. I am a winter bride, and have a natural olive complexion. I will probably keep my base tan going so that I don't look too dark. I would stay away from the spray tan...I think it looks very unnatural. Maybe just tan once a week until the wedding, that way you won't look "crispy"HTH

I agree...I really dislike the look of "orange" skin.  Blech.  However, I was so far opposite (I am so pale that I can hardly ever find foundation that is light enough) that I'm sure some people find that gross, too.  I always meant to go tanning once or twice before the wedding to get some color, but I just never got around to it.  You can see in my photos that I was very pale for my wedding.  I think it looked fine in the end but if you get a chance to go tanning once or twice, I'd do it.  Yes, I know tanning beds are unhealthy and that's why I never do it, but once or twice is fine, I think.

I'd hit the bed a couple times....the spray might be too much against your FI..unless of course he plans on spray tanning too

I'm kind of with January Bride on this one.  I'm also super pale and didn't tan at all before my wedding.  I don't tan the rest of the year and I wanted to look like myself for the wedding.  Plus, I actually kind like the classic look of a pale bride (think Audrey Heppburn).   If you usually have a little color though, I don't think that going a couple of times would be a bad idea.

I tanned a few times as well, even the day before the wedding and I def was not a too tan bride. I only really did it for the wedding. I don't tan now or anything.

I am also a January bride and plan on getting an airbrushed tan for my wedding. I have gotten the tan done several times with the same lady and she can customize the shade so that it is light enough and not orange at all. I usually get a little pink in the tanning beds and dont hold color at all. ... Just an idea. :)

Benefit on Southport has an awesome spray tan. They have a girl there spraying you so it's very even. I got the lightest shade done for my engagement pictures, and it turned out awesome! Only $40 too. I'm going to get it done again for my wedding in September since I never have time to get any sun on the weekend. Also, I would suggest getting it done the Thursday before a Saturday wedding....it looks best the second day.

I don’t plan on tanning at all. I have very fair skin and I would probably end up looking like a tomato = ). So I plan on skipping it all together.

I'm pretty darn pale, but have no desire to tan. To solve my problem, I bought an off white dress so I don't look washed out! :)
