Feeding of the cake

I can not eat cake because I can not have gluten (that means no baked goods at all) So we are kinda stumped on what to do after we cut the cake. Do we do nothing? Do I just feed him? Will either look stupid, especially to people who don't know about the gluten restrictions? OR We wanted to do something funny, like at his brothers wedding the bride and groom quickly turned and smashed the cake in the bestmans and maid of honors faces. We really dont' want to do exactly that because it has been done at his brothers wedding recently. Any other suggestions? The closer it gets to the wedding (65 days!) The more I stress about the little details......errrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I would cut the cake, but off to the side have a cake (cupcake) that is gluten free (you can find this at health food stores) and just "pretend" like your eatting from the same cake even though your not :) no one will notice. Thats what I would do.

Yeah I was actually wondering myself why you weren't just having a gluten free cake. If it only affects you then the cupcake would be agreat idea too.

Oh and for a bakery that may do gluten free pastry you could try Whole Foods, The Natures Bin, or the Sweetie Pie Bakery.

You could have a gluten free cake made -- just something small - that's similar to your wedding cake and cut that instead. Your bakery might be able to make it for you.

My bakery doesnt have gluten free cakes (pretty stupid right?) But that is a great idea, I would love to have a mini cake like mine, this way we could actually have one to freeze. What a bummer :(

Could you have a separate bakery make you a small gluten free cake??? I am not sure if Costco or Giant Eagle makes them, but for a small cake they could do it last minute!!!

I know for a fact that the Whole Foods on Chagrin in Beachwood has gluten-free cake--in fact they have a whole gluten free bakery section!  They make some nice looking cakes so maybe try them!
