Square 1

Oh Ladies! I've really gotten myself into it now! So, as you may remember, I was planning on having a destination wedding in Vegas. I thought I had everything all figured out and was planning a trip in Oct to visit venues with my mom and aunt. WELL.... after watching Kendra (the playboy bunny... I'm not even kidding you!) get married at the Playboy Mansion and watching a few youtube videos of Vegas weddings... I had an epiphany! I DON'T want a Vegas wedding after all. I want to walk down a long aisle, I want my aunt to marry us, to say our own vows, to have a first dance, to dance with my dad, to throw my bouquet, to shove cake in each others faces, and to run through a mess of bubbles as we pile my dress into a car decorated with cans and birdseed, etc. I want what I've dreamed about my whole life. And I decided I can't do that in Vegas... that I have to make it work at home in Colorado! The problem... I have to start planning from scratch now. And we may go over our wedding budget and dip into the part of the budget that is invisible (going toward a down payment on a house). We are still going to get married on Wednesday, July 21 (our 8 year anniversary) and I am anticipating that this will make everything much cheaper. So with that and having a photographer, minister, DJ, and florist in my family... I think we can do it! I don't know any cake bakers though.. and would love to hear from you about your recommendations! Oh my gosh... I'm crazy, I know. I don't even know where to start! I could use some *knottie vibes* and any advice you have to offer! Thanks girls! Emilly

Having a Wednesday wedding will save you a pretty penny at most venues and maybe even with other vendors.  Where in CO are you trying to get married?

you can do it! Do you have any idea about where you want to get married? How many guests do you plan on having attend? Can't wait to hear more about your plans as you get everything settled for a weeding here in Colorado!
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!

My ideal venue would provide for an outside ceremony and either a tented reception or an inside reception. *MCromwell* has turned me onto Tapestry House in Laporte, CO (just outside of Ft Collins). I want a venue more west than east. I am hoping to keep the guest list right around 100. This will be quite the adventure! I need to get caught back up. But all the while, I can't stop giggling because I thought I was so set on Vegas!

The Bertolin Barn, as I have mentioned before on here would fit your needs- very rustic, yet affordable!  It is in Longmont- I guess that is sort of in the middle of west and east when thinking of the front range. Check it out at www.bertolinbarn.com. Good luck!  Sounds fun!  Sorry- we didn't get a cake, so I can't recommend any bakers, although did do a tasting at Indulge in Lafayette and it was very good!

Oh good for you! Everyone should get the wedding of their dreams, I'm glad you realized what you truly wanted now, rather than after the fact :o)  Don't feel like you have to go outside of your budget, a beautiful wedding is created by the people in it, not the money spent. Congrats, and hopefully the transition will be smooth!
