Name Change help

Well I'm finally married!  I need to change my name and don't even know where to start.  Any suggestions?

go to the probate court and get an abstract of your marriage certificate.  take that to the local social security office and update your name there.  Then get a new drivers license.  make a list of places where you have accounts.  they'll all want either a copy of your license or the certificate.

Go back to the place you received your marriage license.  Buy a marriage abstract for $2/each.  I only bought one and haven't needed anymore because everyone so far has given it back to me.  The social security office is only a few blocks away from the courthouse........that's where the official name change happens.  So you go there first.  They give you a print out that your name has been changed, from there you go to the BMV and obtain your new license.  Once you have done all of that, change your bank and credit card information, as well as let your HR people at work know - but after that, at least how I did it was I just let people know as I talked ot them about my name change.  It was just easier that way then spending a whole day contacting random people.  They say marriage is the easiest way to change your name..........After dealing with this though I FOR SURE have no intentions of ever having to do it again.  It's easy, but very time consuming.
