But fun ;)My name is Courtney.... I vow to lose 5-8 pounds by November 24th... and I better lose at least 0.5 pounds by next friday. THANKS ;)

Don't get discouraged! I stayed the same as well. 137. Boo. I know it's because of AF, though. She's a brat. Just keep eating right and working out. Eventually your body will get the idea :P

YES!   running will def do it!  Im not much of a gym person (not proud of it, being that FI is a gym owner/PT lol) but I started a month ago, and I lost 7 pounds! I mean, I also signed up for weightwatchers, but still!  Good luck!  I think you will def hit your target by november   : )

Aww thanks lovie! You look fab, tooo! I just wanna tone up and lose my love handles. Haha. Plus, I'm so afraid that I'm gonna gain like 10,000lbs after the surgery if they put me on hormones, so I'm determined to drop 10lbs in the next two weeks. It can be done.Honestly, I despise running too, but I swear... after a while it gets addicting. It becomes a drug, you get high off of it. I usually run on a treadmill (far too hot here to run outside), plus when you're first starting out, it's easier to control your pace. I can run 10 minute miles outside, but I also don't realize how fast I'm going till I hit the two mile mark and I'm already beat. C25K is a very easy program and it works! My next step is to cut out sugar. I put three teaspoons in my coffee every morning :x Granted, its organic cane sugar, but still sugar none-the-less.

**court, what type of exercise are you doing?
  • edited December 2011
Daphness, amazing job on the 7 pounds!!!!! I lost a lot of weight in college doing weight watchers.. it's the best! I gained a bunch of weight my freshman year and it was gone by junior year, and then some! Tess - that's so awesome about the running !! I'm going to try it. I would love to get addicted to it. I hate excercising. There, I said it. For my excercise routine - I'm fairly simple & pathetic, lol. I do Wii Fit & yoga... finally getting a treadmill this weekend to do cardio & I'm going to buy free weights to do at home. I want to lose about 10 pounds but more tone for the wedding.

Court - def up your work out routine. take it slow at first, but try to push yourself a bit :) Yoga is great, but I never really lost weight doing it? Just found myself more relaxed and happier overall, which is still AWESOME :D

** I can't weigh in...BUT Will share my little gym secret.I'm huge competitor! I always strive to be #1 or #2 (LOL)If you can have gym buddy that you can compete against rather than as a reassurance buddy, you will actually push yourself to work harder. You will no longer have the mental block of just looking at yourself, but rather trying to compete against someone else. Doing longer reps, running longer, more jumping jacks, playing your game At a tougher LEVEL...Kind of like a competitor's edge (if that make sense).Just pushing yourself to be better than someone else NOT just yourself can probably help out with your weight loss.MY Challenge: Trying to beat FI in racketball. AND that girl in the gym that can do more AB workouts than me (gosh, she's stronng BUT I just want to beat her at that challenge.)Well ladies GL with the workout!!
  • edited December 2011
Thank you for that!!! that's a great idea - I'm so into the "weight loss" aspect - I should look at it as more fun & competitive!!!! P.S. You can totally beat your FI in racketball ;) Tess - I know :( I really should get up and work out more. I'm a lazy, lazy girl and I'll admit it. I"m hoping by having the treadmill in my basement, I'll be forced to do it (while watching Sex and the City) - thanks ladies, you're the best

If you want to know. I workout at 6 -7am M, W, F and Saturday at 9am. Just do all the workout in the morning and get it out of the way. Promise your day will go by so much faster. AND you dont have to say "Ehh...I'll go next time" Because you already went.
  • edited December 2011
I agree with RC. If I didn't already get up at 3:30am, I'd go at 6. On the weekends, I'm up and out by 9-10. Saturday sometimes I take my time. We go to the gym at the JCC and they don't open till 1 b/c of sedar (did I spell that correctly?).

I agree with Gladys, if you can get your butt up that early, do it! I used to go to the gym at 5:30 am and get a great workout in and be good to go the rest of the day. You feel so pumped the whole day, plus the gym is virtually empty at that time. Alas, I have started going after work now BUT I changed up my routine by taking classes 4 times during the week, so. much. fun! And then Saturdays I will run too, but here is my running tip (and they say it burns the most fat)...do sprints! Run at a high pace for 30 seconds, walk for 1 minute, repeat and do that for 30-40 min. Its exhilirating. I hate running too, but it does make you feel good. GL sweetie! You can do it!

Jill, which gym do you go to? We should go running together on Saturdays. Running on the beach Saturday ams (pms are actually nicer sometimes) is the best.

Yea I didn't do too well, I ate pretty well until yesterday and then it was a terrible day Wendy's for lunch and then we had a coupon for a free dessert left over from FI b-day, but we shared a meal at least. And now the with the gtg tonight, I don't know that today will be much better.I did actually gain weight this week, but that is motivating me that I must do better next week. I just started an exercise routine, so hopefully, if I do that all next week I will lose something.Courtney, if you like wii fit you should try EA Active, that is what I started doing, I like it alot. It has a 30 day program, which I am determined to finish in 30 days this time (they give you like 2 days a week to rest) it only takes like 30 minutes.

Court, if you love to dance, I'm telling you, you will love taking classes. They're so much fun and the hour goes by so fast! Tess, I go to LA Fitness on PGA. I usually run indoors so I can track it, but I'd love to go on the beach. And when Amy is up for it, still wanna do yoga on the beach too! Yea Jess!! Good for you girl, keep up the good work!!!

Court you'll do it!! I hate running too and tried to run in a few 5Ks and still couldn't get into it. I started swimming with a triatholon group and I love it! I think you need to find something you like. Also, don't stress about the #. If you eat well and do yoga, you may not be loosing the weight, but has your body changed. People kept telling me I had lost weight at the end (while I did loose a big amount prior), in the end I didn't but my body was so different because of the swimming. Jess- Seriously?!!? That's awesome, yay! I told you you'd get there. =)

I'm at about 125 (i'm 5'1) but out of shape.rclnd: 100% agree!! Competition is the best motivator. when running FI pushes me like a military freak but then he adds the whole "i dont think you can catch up to me" thing and thats all I need to speed it up.Run Run Run. thats the best workout, for your entire body. not to mention it gets your metabolism going which, will make you shed those pounds!p.s i hate running. but i love the results.

COURTNEY BROOKE!I gained two pounds, I hate you. I'm scaling 119 now, which is not cool but I get to blame my period for this. However, I do agree with the previous posters: running = bye bye fat.If you hate running, do the elliptical machine. Easier on your joints and back, but techincally the same thing. Also! Become an almond lover. Between meals have a couple of almonds and plenty of water. Your metabolism will go crazy (good crazy) and you'll start burning more and more calories through the day.Portion control is your friend. Embrace it.Do as I say, and not as I do, because I just got done munching on crisps ... *sniffle*

F scales! The only way to tell a difference is by how your clothes fit. Muscle weighs more than fat, so even if you are losing fat but gaining muscle the scale may come up with a higher number but your body will be toned and slim!
