    I started at Social Security (got there at 8:30 and had a half hour wait) then went to the DMV (remember, Orange County doesn't take Visa!!!). For social security all I needed was my driver's license (with maiden name) and my marriage license. They gave me a printout saying my name was officially changed and I'd have a new card the next week. The DMV required my social security paperwork, my marriage license, my birth certificate, AND my passport. And they took a new picture - sad, because I liked my old one :( Then I went to HR at work and then to the bank and that was it :)

    Honestly, the DMV is a crapshoot.  The person I went to only asked to see my old driver's license and the marriage license.  I brought everything though, just in case.

    I went today at 2:30 - I was at SS for an hour. I showed them my marriage license & my driver's license and also gave them my old SS card. Then I went over to the DMV (there is one literally around the corner). The woman there only asked to see my old driver's license & my marriage license. I was in and out of there within half an hour. Then I went to the bank & changed my name there. I'm going to wait until Monday to start calling & visiting other places, but it was a good, easy start for now. :) GL, Charisma!
