Flanders Hotel Ocean City

My FI and I are pretty certain that we are going to have our reception at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, and I was wondering if anybody here has any opinions, relevant bios, or anything else about that site. Have you ever attended a wedding there? What was it like? How's the food? (slightly unrelated) Is Mack and Manco's the best pizza that has ever been made or what? :)

My first experience with Flanders was two months ago. We attended a wedding and had no idea what the palce would be like... we were blown away!We booked a 2 bedroom-suite, and there ended up being a problem with our reservation (it was my MIL's fault - she booked it for the wrong day), but we were actually upgraded to a beautiful room a stone's throw away from the cocktail area.Cocktail was fabulous! Excellent choices, and there was ample seating/tables for drinks and appetizer plates. Dinner was good as well... Overall, we had a great experience! We even ordered Mack n Manco's before the wedding to have as a late-night snack. Delish :)

I went to a wedding there about 10 years ago so I don't think I'll be much help.  The food was good and the reception was beautiful.  I grew up in Ocean City Mack and Manco's is good but after eating it every week for school lunch pizza day I think I've had my lifetimes worth.  Mallons sticky buns are soooo good too.  If they are still there (14th and Bay ave).

I've never had any sticky buns in Ocean City. I've been going there for one weekend each summer since FI and I started dating (his family has been vacationing there for years). We got engaged in the Air Circus on the boardwalk last year, and we are so glad to be having our wedding in one of our favorite places!

The Flanders is BEAUTIFUL!!! I looked into it, but felt it was too pricey and decided on the Ocean city yacht club. we are getting married next month there. Have you looked into OCYC? they are so helpful and the food is fantastic!!! and we will have the fabulous sunset during dinner!! just thought i would put it out there, but the Flanders is a wonderful choice!   hth

My sister's wedding was at the OCYC and I have to say it was the nicest wedding I have ever been to.  I may just be partial to my sister though.  I have so many good memories of Ocean City.  It is such a nice town.

The problem with OCYC for us is that they don't rent during July and August, and we're having our wedding in August. We thought about switching to accommodate them, but then we visited the Flanders and fell in love. I also really like the idea of being so close to the boardwalk, for picture convenience  and ability for guests to walk back to their hotels and avoid drunk driving.I'm glad to be hearing so many good reviews!

Sarah, I know nothing about Flanders but I just wanted to tell you that I love your bio! It's such a great story that John Kerry "helped" bring you both back together! :-) Your ceremony and reception seem like they will be amazing!

Thanks! I kind of love telling the John Kerry story. We're going to do something with it, probably at least send him a letter and invitation and see if we can get some kind of keepsake picture or letter back. Could be fun...

I haven't posted on here in forever..but here I am...LOL I went to a wedding (my DH was a GM) last Nov.  It was really great..the rooms there were fab and all new.  The only thing I personally didn't like was that the dance floor was in a different room then where you ate dinner.  So when the B&G made there entrance everyone had to go to the other room.  It was especially not that great if you have an older guest (maybe even in a wheelchair) they would have to move..and if they didn't they wouldn't be able to see. Other then that everything was awesome!
