Advice on selling dress and ring

Hi, I called off my wedding (believe me - it was the right call), and I would like to sell my wedding gown (Melissa Sweet, brand new, unaltered, unworn) and a solid platinum men's wedding band.  As both are new and in perfect condition (the dress has been stored at the boutique where I purchased it, and the ring has never been worn) I would like to sell them at the cost for which I purchased them (the dress was actually 30% off and the ring was full price).  I don't want to sell the dress and the ring through the stores where I purchased them because they will charge me commission for selling them.  I would appreciate advice about how to go about selling these.  I live in San Antonio but posted this on the San Antonio and Austin boards.  Thanks so much!

Annie,So Sorry to hear about your wedding.  I would think you could either advertise it on the local boards with sizes etc.  Or I sell alot of things on ebay too and sometimes I get way more than what I even paid for them!  That is always a good option too!GL

I actually bought my dress on craigslist. The dress I bought was used but had never been outside. It was extremely discounted but since yours has yet to be worn I'm sure you could sell it for more. Good luck!

I'm so glad to hear you listed to your gut and called off the wedding if you didn't feel it was right. Only you know what's best for you, and I wish you the best. I think you're probably going to have a hard time selling for what you paid for them. I would suggest ebay or craiglist. The longer you hold onto things the less desirable they can be - so I hope you get what you're looking for. The website a pp said are great options too. (preowned, oncewed, ect). good luck!
