Nice to meet you guys!  My wedding is still more than a year away, but I'm already deeply immersed in the planning.My name is Eeva and my FI Matt and I will be married October 30th, 2010.  I'm Canadian and Matt is from PA.  We're being married in upstate new york in the adirondack mountains.  We're not planning on doing a full on vintage wedding, but want a few cute touches here and there.  I'm aiming for motifs from the 1930s.  My engagement ring is from the 1930s so that's the source of my inspiration.Please check out my bio, if you get the chance and make some comments!  I'll be stalking all of yours soon.  :PNice to meet you!

    Welcome!  I love all the traditions you have listed in your bio (especially the bride stealing).  My FI is Russian, but he keeps telling me they don't have any traditions he wants to follow...except a 3 day wedding celebration.

    Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! Lanna--What I've found with my FI is that he could care less about things (and can't think of any creative ideas) until I suggest something to him.  He didn't come up with the Scranton or Hershey's stuff, but I asked him if he liked them and he got SO enthusiastic and excited.  Try the same thing with your Russian beau.  Look up some traditions yourself, (ask his parents for help on this one if you can) and then suggest them to him.  I'm sure he'll realise there are a lot more russian traditions he knows and likes than he thought.  :D

    welcome! My FI's mother was born in Finland! I think... I know she's Finnish, and her parents came over on a boat! :P
