Honeymoon Advice for Pagosa Springs. Thanks.

Hello from the West Coast Florida board.  My FI and I are honemooning in Pagosa Springs, CO after our Feb. 6, 2010 wedding.  We have family friends with a big home they are graciously giving to us for a week and we are looking forward to a ski HM. That being said we plan on skiing both Wolf Creek and Durango. I was looking for anyone who has been to Pagosa Springs/Wolf Creek/Durango and could give advise about all things travel i.e. where to rent skis, good restaurants, etc. Thanks

Pagosa is awesome! My parents have property down there & we love visiting! I'd recommend checking out "The Springs Resort & Spa" for a day (they have an amazing spa & their hot springs are lots of fun!...it would be perfect after a few days of skiing/snowboarding to relax!) If you want to check it out their website is www.pagosahotsprings.com
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!

I grew up in Durango, so I can offer you some advice. I don't have much experience with Pagosa Springs, however. To rent skis in Durango, I would go to the Boarding Haus or the Ski Barn. It's on North Main, which is on the way out of town toward the ski mountain & that's where I always went when I was growing up. There are TONS of amazing restaurants in Durango. Every time I go back home it's my goal to hit up as many of them as possible. I'm sure there are more that have opened up since I moved, and some of the ones I'm recommending may have closed down (but I hope not!)Italian: Mama's Boy on North Main. Mexican: Gazpacho's, Tequila's or Francisco'sNicer dinner: Randy's, Season's, The Palace, Ken and Sue's, the Ore HouseSushi: East by SouthwestCajun: Steamworks (also has a great local beer)American: Carver's (another place with great local beer), Olde Tymer's, Lady Falconburgh's, The Durango Bagel, Serious Texas BarbqueCoffee: The Durango Coffee Company, Steaming Bean, Durango Joe'sBreakfast: The Durango Diner, Oscar's, CJ's Diner, and Le RendezvousIf there's another kind of food that you're looking for, let me know and I might be able to recommend something. HTH!

I think Le Rendezvous burned down... not sure but they may still be rebuilding. I've found that many of the restaurants are veggie friendly and the local Co-op is great! You will have an amazing time! Oh! If you are going to be around for awhile there are great hot springs in Pagosa and Ouray.
