Photog's & DJ's

I know I've posted about DJ's before, but I'm still having a tough time finding someone I really like. Has anyone tried LG Entertainment? I do not want a club like atmosphere at my reception. When I talked to LG, they seemed the clubish type. So here's my question....If you already have your DJ booked, who are you using and/or if you're already married who did you use? What was the cost?AND....What photographer are you using or did you use and about how much did you pay for prints afterwards? How much was it to book?I'm sorry if I sound nosey. I'm just trying to get a realistic cost of what's out there so I can get these 2 checked off! If you don't feel comfortable posting the info on here, you can email me at alb479 at yahoo dot com.TIA!Happy Monday all!! :-)

We used a friend of ours as our DJ.  He DJs at clubs, but our wedding was not a club atmosphere.  You can tell the DJ what type of music you want played.  I think LG entertainment has that lighting that goes with the music, and if that is what you are worried about by making it clubbish, I am sure you can tell him you don't want that at your wedding.  I don't think we paid the average for a DJ bc it was a friend of ours. I used Pink Posh Photography.  www.blogs.pinkposh.com They have a few different packages depending on what you are wanting.  It ranges from 3K-6K I believe.

We used Best Entertainers for our DJ and they did a great job with keeping everyone on the dance floor, they followed our play list exactly and took requests etc...bestentertainers.comOur photog was Nhan Nguyen, think his packages start at 5000, but there are some for 3000 with photos available for purchase to do your own book

I used Lewis with LG, didn't think he was clubbish.  He did our uplighting and it was beautiful. Usually photog are 25-30% to book, balance due 2 weeks before the wedding. Some favorites here Morgan Lynn PhotographyStudio 563Pink PoshAshley KIt really depends on your budget, always get a package where you own the rights, that way you can print on your own. Most photogs overcharge to print your pictures.

Did any of you use the DJ for ceremony music too? I'm trying to keep the cost of music down. Originally I was going to have someone play during the ceremony and have a DJ for the reception.

We had the organist from the church play. DO you have any musically talented family or friends? DH's Aunt sang during the wedding and a close family friend played the clarinet

I have crazy family and friends, LOL. No one musically talented though :-( My mom wants a girl from church to sing, but I don't know how that will work. My wedding is outside and not at a church so I'd have to work it out with the DJ.

We are using Ryan Mann for our DJ. My photog is Julie Wilhite. And her prices start around 1,500. Also, one way to save on prints is to consider a photographer who includes a disc of the images. My package with julie includes a book & a disc of the images.

I used LG Entertainment for my ceremony music and reception, and they were great. They didn't seem clubbish to me either. I explained that I wanted soft music like Sinatra style for the dinner and what I wanted for the reception. I don't like weddings where the music is so loud and booming that I can't talk to anyone. It was nothing like that on our day :-) They also did our uplighting. Overall they did a really good job and listened to everything we wanted.

For DJ's, I think LG is the best in Houston, personally. I did not use them for my wedding because I didn't know about them at the time. We used Impressive Entertainment, and they are good, too. Photographers...there's a lot of good ones out there. Check the Hottie Bio in TxSun's siggy. I like the ones mentioned above as well as: www.studioexceed.com PaperDolls D. Jones E.
