... Smashing Cardsss, come on.

I am waiting on a quote from Smashing Cards since, oh, July 21st. I love their designs so much I'm not moving forward in the invitation department till I get a quote from them. Eeeee. How long did your invite vendors take, girls? And what's the average price per invite? Also, I finally made my first post in my Wedding Chicks blog:http://weddingchicks.com/category/wc-brides/jenv/Wheeee.

Great choice! I used Smashing Cards and Ashley was by far my favorite vendor. I've never in my life received the customer service that lady gave me. We exchanged, I swear like 100 emails in 4 months. She is soooooo amazing and attentive. I'm obsessed with paper and stationary, and have a secret dream of owning my own invitation shop, so I def. splurged on my invites....it was my special project.  I would say it came out to a little under $3,000. But, I added a lot of extra stuff, so that's not the norm for her. She also has a DIY option in which prints and supplies everything and you put it together...a good option to save money. Is she taking a while to get back to you? Usually she's lighting quick with replies, so maybe they're backed up...I know that fall/winter is her crazy season, so that could be a reason why. I'm excited for you....I love invites!

I'm using Smock who also does letterpress and I only had to wait like a couple of days to get my quote. I didnt go directly through them but through Niki at Papery and Cakery in Boca Raton.   How many invites do you need? For a letterpress company like Smashing Cards you are looking at spending probably somewhere betweeen $2000-$3000 for the entire suite. Maybe more depending on how many colors you use

Smashing Cards is gorgeous! I used Twin Ravens Press for my letterpress, and she responded so quickly. I had an estimate from her within a week or so, after we detailed exactly what I wanted and how it would look. She did my invites and place cards and they were so stunning -- and much cheaper than the other quotes we got. She custom-designed every piece to work with our theme and colors.

Alissa...that's so weird! I know they were on vacation most of last month...I just read their last blog, and says she's backed up: http://cornerlesstomorrow.typepad.com/Don't give up on them, though! Try shooting Ashley another email, explaining that you've been waiting. I had such a great experience with the...I hope they come through for everyone else.

I love Smock. Love it, love it, love it.I'm going to wait a bit more on Smashing Cards, then move on to Papery&Cakery in Boca. I was going for the thermography look, too. But now that I've seen letterpress I like it too. Whichever is cheaper, as long as it's not flat.Screw Crane&Co. Imma get my custom invites. *snirk*Now watch my plan fail and me drag my sorry arse to Crane&Co. -____-
