Southern NH Ceremony and Reception Venues

I am looking for a location for both my ceremony and reception in the Manchester/Portsmouth/Southern NH area.  I am planning to have 75-100 guests.  I would prefer an outdoor ceremony.  I am currently looking at the Atkinson Country Club, Brookstone Park and Wentworth By the Sea.  Please let me know if you have any information about these venues or have any other suggestions!

I am getting married at Brookstone Park in about a month. So far Jen has been amazing to work with. She's super sweet and answers all of my many questions very quickly. Their prices are reasonable and their venue is beautiful. We are also getting married under the tent and I can't wait to see the fountain lit up and the lights under the tent. Please let me know if you have any specific questions about Brookstone, I'd be happy to answer them. There are a few other brides on here that got married there and they had nothing but great things to say.

candi516: Zorvino Vineyards looks beautiful, I will definitely add that to my list of places to visit.Soon2BMrs.Babs: I am really interested in Brookstone Park, I'm planning to visit in September.  Was there a food and beverage minimum?  If so, how much was it?  Are you using their vendor package or did you select your own?

We are having our reception at Candia Woods in Candia. They also do ceremonies outdoors. They have been good to work with so far.

we had our reception at Promises to Keep in Derry, NH... there was a $4000 food minimum for a friday night wedding.. not sure how much for a saturday or sunday... and i'm not sure if their minimums continue during the off season... and really in this economy? barter! we didn't do the vendor packages, but my brother who got married there 4 years (ironically to the day) prior did... and had no problem with it (jacques cakes are AMAZING!) gorgeous outdoor area, and tons of places to take photos! promisesnh.com

We have different food minimums b/c we were booked in at the 2008 prices. Based on the info packet that I have for the 2009/2010 weddings the minumum for Friday evenings & Sundays is 4800 and Sat evenings is 7500. We didn't do the vendor package b/c we found that shopping around got us more options and better prices. With the vendor package you pay for convenience of having all your vendors chosen. HTH!

Some good suggestions on here. Some of these venues have a 'wedding mill' feel to them. Is your budget a consideration? You mentioned the Wentworth which is 'megabucks', compared to some of the others. Have you thought of: Portsmouth Country Club Three Chimneys Inn of Durham (nice garden area) Flag Hill Winery of Lee (out in the country)

Wentworth by the Sea (hotel - not the country club) was originally my #1 choice but I started to have second thoughts about spending that much when I realized how many beautiful venues there are in NH for half the price.  It was difficult to get answers to a lot of my questions from the planner at WBTS and there were so many regulations and extra charges for every component of the ceremony and reception.  Also, we are paying for hotel rooms for my fiance's out-of-town family members and groomsmen which would cost a lot more at WBTS than another hotel.

The Mile Away Restaurant in Milford does very nice outdoor ceremonies and receptions.  I have attended a tented cocktail reception there outdoors, as well as another function inside the main building.  They have a nice pond with a little bridge, and do the ceremonies with that as the background.  The outdoor receptions are held underneath a tent and are really nice.  Their food is very good, and most importantly, their prices are VERY reasonable!  We were strongly leaning toward having our wedding there (until we decided to have a destination wedding in Jamaica :-))  Their website is: www.mileawayrestaurant.comGood luck. :-)

I've been looking in the Seacoast area myself and found The Exeter Inn.  It was newly rennovated last year and has a beautiful little courtyard out back for ceremonies.  I met with Shannon the wedding planner there and she has been wonderful to work with so far, always has gotten back to me quickly.  They also have quite a few overnight guest rooms there, look on their website they have pictures of the rooms, I love the bathroom sinks!  Just thought I'd mention it.
