Will my dress yellow in a year?!

I never thought of this, but can a white dress turn yellow in a year? I just bought my wedding dress for next October and picked it up over the weekend. It is being stored in a closet in a room that doesn't get a lot of natural sunlight. My dad is the one who asked me and now I'm worried. If I keep the dress out of natural light, will it be safe until I get it altered next summer?

Does anyone in the house smoke? If so that will turn it yellow. You can get protective dress bags to keep it safe.

I haven't stored or preserved my dress since the wedding, and it hasn't yellowed in 5 years.

And no one in the house smokes. So, no problems there. It's being store in a guest bedroom that rarely gets used, so I think it should be ok until next year.

I've had my dress for almost two years and it hasn't yellowed. It is wrapped in a clean sheet and placed under the bed in our spare room.

My dress was hanging in my sisters closet since May '08. I just took it to the seamstress 2 weeks ago and it was still as good as new. No yellowing.

It should be fine then, the only thing that yellows white fabric really fast is cigarette smoke.
