Best Man Best Friend of fiance's bro??

My bfs bestfriend since they were in the 4th grade is getting married. He called him the same day he proposed asking my bf if he would be a groomsman bc he picked his fiancees brother to be his best man. He also asked my bf if he would plan the bachelor party.... now, he hid this relationship from his best friend for 3 yrs and everytime we hung out with him he complained about his future brother in law. Does my bf have a right to be upset? We are thinking his fiancee made this decision. Hes only known this guy for 5 yrs.

  • Here is the best advice I can give you. Stay out of it. It's not your business.

  • Im asking for my bf. He doesnt know I posted but hes planning on confronting him soon and he wouldnt go in unless he had enough reason not to. I dont want him to do the wrong thing unless ppl believe he has a right to be offended.
  • Yes exactly... bachelor parties are expensive, its as if he knows his "best man" also his fiancees brother wont make it as exciting bc he wants to protect his sister so that's why he asks his best friend to do it but task him as a groomsman.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Yes the groom has only known the future brother in law, also chosen as the best man, for 5 yrs compared to knowing the best friend since the 4 grade. They are both 26 yr old now.
  • I will read him ur post.... hopefully he gets his answer.
  • As PPs hve said asking your bf to host the bachelor party was rude. However I think declining to be a groomsman in his best friends wedding because he is upset about not being the BM seems awfully petty to me. He can be hurt that he wasn't chosen but ultimately the choice is up to the groom. For whatever reason he chose his FBIL as his best man and thats his right.
