  yea im pretty sure its padrino too even though its also used for godfather.

  Padrino is godfather. I don't think there is a proper way to say it.

  Padrino is most commonly godfather but is also used as a word for best man. As is madrina for maid-of-honor.

  Like some of the above posters said, it's padrino (de bodas).  This is the same person that will be one of your witnesses when you sign the papers.
