Speaking of cake...

Let's talk about cupcakes. All this talk of bakeries made me mention to my coworker how much I was looking forward to eating a cupcake in OKC. Turns out there is a shop around the corner that sells cupcakes. (Plano--Spring Creek & 75)We did an impromptu field trip and I just stuffed a yummy white cupcake in my mouth.Any other good places to get cupcakes in Dallas?I've tried Sprinkles--not bad, but not great for the price. I had a Tres Leches cupcake at La Duni too. Again, not bad, but expensive.

I swear that Society Bakery's cupcakes are the closest to Heaven I'll get until I die.  That place is amazing. Also, once a lady sent our office cupcakes from Neiman's.  Oh. My. God.  Delicious.  Another close to Heaven experience right there.  They just opened a Cupcakery here in Uptown off of McKinney and Pearl.  It's good...but I've had better (read: Society and Neiman Marcus cupcakes)

I had a surprisingly great cupcake from Whole Foods at work birthday. I'm sure their prices are pretty decent. And my friend who works at central market Plano has made some great ones for a shower, so I'm sure they are good in CM too!mmm...I want a cupcake now! This plus having 2 birthday cakes at home is not good for wedding dress shopping! I need to start working out again!

MArissa Try Jackie Spratt. She is off of Hillcrest by SMU. I think her cake is the best I have ever had and her cupcakes are only about $2.50. But she only takes cash or check. Try the chocolate, toffee, champagne or really any of them, i have never had a bad flavor!! OMG. Yum. I want to use her for my wedding but she doesn't do fondant so I am still working on a different design that will work. Awesome cupcakes, way better than Sprinkles, IMHO. :) Happy eating!!

wagner- jackie spratt did my cake and it was the best decision we made.  You don't need fondant..it doesn't taste good and it's not worth giving up jackie spratt! H is getting my birthday cake from her this weekend and I can't stop thinking about it! Oh, and to the OP, yes Society and Jackie Spratt are my absolute favorites!
