I like molecularmuse. (her name is clicky) I haven't bought anything from her (yet) but I love to look at her jewelery.

She's a great pick if you have a friend really into chemistry/molecular biology/etc. I dropped serious hints about one of her necklaces to BF for a good while...yeah no dice. But now he knows.

ETA: Boo she no longer has my favorite necklace.

I *love* nerdy stuff that makes me feel pretty.  Feels so ironic.

I'm looking for ...... BM gifts.

Custom clutches or schmancy headbands. Something they probably wouldn't splurge to get for themselves.

I was also looking at vases with their initial etched into them... or something else nice and for the ktichen.

I think nice vases would be cool. I didn't get any vases, though. I just ordered a custom necklace from Kande. It looks great, I can't wait to see it!

I have so many things coming this week! None of them are for me, but I get SO EXCITED over giving gifts. I'm ridiculous about it. I LOVE surprising people with something I think they'll love. Sometimes that's better than getting gifts myself.

Although, the "anonymous wedding gift" I got was pretty awesome. I LOVE surprises, dudes. Seriously. I have a complex or something.

A Santa complex? Maybe. My great-grandma was a Christmas fiend. She loved it. She decorated her tiny trailer with all kinds of crazy tinsel and lights, and she put a lot of thought into her gifts. She used to give me and my cousins porcelain dolls that looked like us. I still have them all packed away at my parents' house.

I think I get my obsession with gifts from her. I just... LOVE that look when someone opens a gift they didn't expect to get, or when they get something that is really perfect for them.

    It's awesome.

Wow, I am so off-topic! Sorry! lol

I love it Jeana!!! I LOVE decorating for holidays. Any holiday. Yes please!

For my girls I was thinking of doing this:

    - I'm making them the wire hangers with their names (PIB)

    - Getting them this vase from Pottery Barn with their initial etched into it:

    www.potterybarn.com/pbimgs/ab/images/dp/products/201020/0029/img54l.jpg" alt="Square Vases" title="Square Bowl" width="208" height="186" />

and fun headbands from Etsy: like this:

Those vases are gorgeous. I think they'll love them.

I need to accessorize better. It may be my mid-year resolution. I need to enhance my "style," which I have been told is cute flat shoes and bright summer dresses. I also tend not to care if the colors I wear clash. I layer bright tank tops under everything, and I prefer bold, saturated colors to pastels. I don't think I OWN anything pastel.

Obviously a lot of purple in my wardrobe.

I shop at Old Navy a lot.

This summer I'm hoping we'll have a little extra money (not paying for a wedding anymore) and I can work on accessories. I'd love to start rocking bright flowers in my hair, and some long necklaces with fun charms (I saw a vintage 24" necklace with a brass and bright-colored enamel hot air balloon charm. FUN!).

Uhh, so my point is I think the headbands are very aweosme and cute. I'd rock it.

Can you tell I am still trying to procrastinate on that final paper that's due at 5pm today? I have written 609 words so far. I doubt I'll get to 2,000.... and I KNOW it won't exactly be a work of journalistic genious.

    JEANA

    A. I think we're kind of the same. I wear bright, bold colors that other people think don't go together all the time. Maybe because we're both in art/design?

I really want to start accessorizing, but I don't know where to start. :(

I need a beginners kit or something. Just a whole bunch of costume jewelry.  I don't want to buy it all seperately. haha

Haha, Narwhal, I think that's the key to great accessories. They don't come in a kit. You find them one piece at a time.

I like to frequent local vintage and consignment shops for mine. Every piece has a story. Otherwise you just end up with a pile of crap.

Narwhal - watch people whose style you like.  If you see someone with a cute braclet or necklace remember what it looks like.  Head out and find something like it.  Start small with one or two things and you'll gradually find more and more as you go.
