Attempting to Create My Own Monograms and STD

I don't even know how this crapola will turn out, but my butt needs to get on the ball with all this! Less than 6 months to go! Where do I find the flourishes and all the decorative elemets that goes into this?

If you show me an idea of what you like, I can help you out... either by telling you how it was done and helping you find the brushes and fonts, etc... or helping you recreate it!

I'm on a PC and my Photoshop is like from 2005....

OK, basically you need to download the brushes... most brushes compatible with photoshop are an .abr file type. You then need to move the .abr file to PROGRAM FILES on your local drive>ADOBE>PHOTOSHOP>BRUSHES... you need to move the brushes to the brush folder associated with photoshop... I hope I am explaining this correctly. Or you can put the file somewhere you will know where to find them later. Go into photoshop, load brushes> select .abr file THEN you should choose the append option if it prompts it so that you don't replace the brushes in there, but rather add them to the already existing list. I am using CS3 which is a fairly newer version and there could be a difference in How-to so I would suggest using the help menu for "loading brushes" if my directions are unclear... E-mail me heathermckelvey AT comcast DOT net if you want to...

Yes if you can, you should... photoshop is wondrous once you learn all the in's and out's of it. Thankfully I am saving myself a TON of money by being able to design all my own stationary goods for the wedding... probably hundreds... Plus there are many other great uses for photoshop! I love it.

Download the brushes to wherever you'd like. If it's comes in a compressed file (.zip, .rar, etc) uncompress it and move the .ABR file to the Brushes directory. You can find that folder by going to My Documents - C:\ - Program Files - Adobe - Adobe Photoshop (or whatever you named it at install) - Presets - Brushes and move that .abr file you downloaded into there. Let me know if this helps or if something is named differently on your computer.
