I know this is so dmb, but what does FI stand for?

I have been trying to figure this out, and I could be a total dumb dumb.... I know it's for FIANCE, but does it stand for that or is it Future ____ something??? I think I am overanalyzing, but wanted to make sure!

I believe it originally stood for "Future Intended" (which is gender neutral).

Well I guess I can finally confess after being on the Knot for almost three years that I am not sure what DH stands for...lol always wanted to ask but just felt well....dumb
