Crate and Barrel

My fiance and I are planning to do registries at macys, anthropologie, and williams sonoma. Pretty much everyone I have ever known is doing/has done crate and barrel. Are we missing out on something spectacular???

Re: Crate and Barrel

  • I am not sure you are exactly missing out. I like the stores you chose as well. I've been shopping at Crate and Barrel for only about five years, but have been extremely happy with the quality and cost of everything I have purchased through them. I also really like the feel of the stores, the brands available, etc. FI and I only registered @ C and B and Macy's. So far most of the gifts purchased have been from C and B. I've been snooping *BAD HABIT!*
  • oh MAN! That is something I didn't even think of! You get to check it all the time and see what you're getting!!! Hahaha, sorry, the getting married excitement is nowhere close to wearing off yet.

  • I checked after I posted this and someone bought 4 marg. glasses and the pitcher. SOMEONE KNOWS ME WELL!I also laughed, because for a while all that was purchased was 2 beer mugs and the place settings of our nice silverware:)
  • Take a look at the C&B merchandise and see if you really like it. If you don't really want anything from there, then you're not missing out. C&B is popular because it has a broad selection of housewares and furniture. Some of their stuff is trendier than what you'd find at Macy's (ex. FI has a set of "leaning" shot glasses from C&B).
  • I think it's a personal preference thing - we're going with C&B, BB&B and maybe Macys.  I just like the selection at C&B and between that and BB&B, we can pretty much get everything we'd like to have.
  • I personally like C&B because all their dishes have such versatility. But whatever floats your boat.

  • I really like the flatware from Crate & Barrel, and the flatware was a popular gift for some of my guests to get us.

  • C&B is just a fun kitchen and decorating store. It's clean and things are easy to find.  They also have some unique dishes and wine glasses that are fun and inexpensive.  On the other hand, if you are registered at Macys and Williams Sonoma it might not be worth it.  Everything you can get at C&B you can get at Macys and WS aside from their home decor. C&B was the first place we went to register, but once we went to BBB we found they carried all the same brands and were generally cheaper plus the 20% coupons.
  • You can register at anthroplogie?!  Why am I just learning this now?!  If you want I will trade you my crate and barrel list for your anthroplogie list (PLEASE!).
