Flower girl Dress

Hey ladies-

I know I've been MIA lately but I took a break from planning for the last few months but now I'm back in full swing!  I am on the hunt for a flower girl dress for my niece who will be just under 3 by the time of the wedding.  I'm looking for a purple dress (any shade as long as it compliments my MOH's dress.)  Anyway I found this dress on etsy and I want to make some adjusments to it but wanted to know what you girls thought.  My sisters aren't crazy about it but will go with it if it's what I want.  The top would be purple with 3 different shades of purple in the skirt...no flowers and I would add sleeves.  Opinions?

Where else could I go shopping for a dress for her?  I don't want it to be white so springtime/commuion time probably won't help.  Any suggestions?

Re: Flower girl Dress

  • I think thats really cute - except I dont like how the tulle looks like it was haked at. It looks like unfinished to me. Like if it was all around the same length then I think it would look better.
My SIL bought her flower girl dress at khols actually. It was red and on sale lol. It was cute!
  • Try department stores.  Also, just google purple flower girl dresses and look on those sites.  If you aren't in any rush, sign up for Zulily.com.  It's free to sign up and they have great deals all the time.  They add new deals every day.  I got my flower girl dresses there for $32 each (after shipping).  The same dress is sold in Nordstrom for more.  Just hunt around, you'll find something!
  • Personally, the dress is not my style, but I don't like tulle that much...so I'm not a fair person to give my opinion! I do agree that it does look a bit unfinished!

That being said, check out David's Bridal, department stores, and some on-line sites. There are so many options out there for flower girl dresses. I actually loved a lot of David's bridal, they came in colors along with traditional whtie.
  • Love the dress!  I saw those on etsy and actually made my own for my neice to wear.  Let me know if you want details, it was one of my easier, though still time consuming, DIY projects!

  • I like it but what does the flower girl think about the dress?
