90s themed party - Help needed

So, I've been sitting here listening to the 100 Greatest R&B Songs of The 90's on nutsie.com and I came up with a great idea. I'm nostalgic as heck so I'm gonna turn that nostalgia to a good time. I'm turning 28 in November (God willing) and intend to throw a 90s themed 28th bday partay. I got the music down already but I'm still thinking about some other things such as food and decor. I already know that I'll be "decorating" the space with posters - time to bring my Kris Kross and Tevin Campbell posters out of retirement, lol. I also know that I'll have 90s board games spread around the room. I was thinking about setting up a double dutch (though I never learned how to jump) and hopscotch contest. What kind of food (I'm already thinking of the lil' round pizzas they used to serve in elementarty and JHS) should I serve? I'm gonna do a candy buffet full of fun 90s candy. Lol, jolly rancher is the only one I have so far. Help a sista out. Ideas for my outfit is also welcomed. I'm def seeing three outfits for the night - one of which will require that I wear big square gold earrings :).

lmao @ cat for trying to make me look like Kelly Bundy or like I'm trying out for Rock of Love. Brobin, girl, you need to stop playing. I used to rock those shirts tied around my middle like it was my job... oooh don't make me also bring out the jelly sandals.

The other outfit has to be some Leather fronts....Remember the ones that they used to sell at Merry Go Round & 5-7-9?Now are you doing early 90's or going through the whole decade cause you know fashion changed so much.  Don't forget to get you some overalls & unhook one side!!  Oh & some biker shorts too!

mamacita, haha at the overalls. I intend to do the whole 90s - 3 outfits - one for early 90s, one for mid-90s, and one for late 90s.

For candy, Ring Pops, baby bottle pops. Your outfit could be biker shorts with an oversized tee-shirt with one of the warner- brothers characters on it (like the gangster bugs bunny in the overalls), and tie the end of the shirt on the side with a scrunchie. ( I wore that)Do you remember skip-it? That was fun! I'll try to think of some more.

Ooh I just remembered. Back in the late '90's I wore wide leg jeans and sheer military fatigue shirts with tank topswith the combat boots. Now that's an outfit. LOL

Agua, I'm calling it a day. I love that you brought back skip-it and gangster WB characters. Lmao, your outfit. Someone just told me to check out sis act II for fashion inspiration and that reminds me of the movie.

I'm gonna flip through my HS yearbook and get back to you on this one. We have lists of 'trends' from each year--I got 93-97 covered for ya!If you can, you should collect video clips from youtube of different 90s videos and show them! Maybe even some noteworthy news clips, like the Clinton scandal or the OJ Simpson verdict!

Oh Paisley print shirts & your footwear has to consist of at least one pair of colored Reeboks (hi-top or low) or those shiny shoes with the sheer or lace shoestrings.  OMG I can't believe how we used to dress, but I'll be da*&ed if we didn't think we were fly.

The 90's...hmm. Fun times!Outfit ideas: Remember Cross Colors, Damaged and Used?! The two tier ruffle skirts? Scruncie socks! High top gym shoes. Those were so in. Hair ideas: Remember flipping half of your bang up and half under with the curlers? haha! Or the banana clips!Candy: Jolly Rancher (the Sticks are the best!), Pop Rocks, Ring Pops, Blow Pops, Laffy Taffy Snacks: Cool Ranch Doritoes!! Everyone ate those!Decor: Movie posters of like Juice or Boyz in da Hood. Or you could even have these movies playing on low in the back ground.Well, those are my ideas. I tried not to repeat anything from PP. :-)
