Bachelor/Bachelorette

Alright, we are probably going to have our Bachelor/Bachelorette party in Las Vegas next May, hopefully over the long weekend. It looks like 20-30 people will be going. Is it crazy to consider chartering a private plane? I would never have thought of this at first, we are not the kind of people to throw money at a private jet. But someone said we could maybe get one for $15,000. With the amount of people going we might actually save money this way (ticket prices are high for flights)
What are your thoughts? Has anyone done this or considered it then realized it is still too costly?
I got a quote for $40000, which is way out of the question. We only want to do this if it saves us all money...
Thanks!Smile

I've heard the same thing, that private charter can be cheaper with the right number of people and that they are generally $15,000 to $20,000 USD (Which works to your advantage)

Not a crazy idea in my mind if it is cheaper for everyone!

I went to Vegas about 3 years ago this time and return tickets through West Jet were $250.  That is a lot cheaper than a private charter ($500-$1000 per person), especially since you'll have to pay for your hotel and all the food once you arrive as well!

    Thanks Ladies.
We have been looking into it a bit further and it seems like I got ahead of myself! :)
The lowest we found was $40000 so far.
We looked at flight cost for that weekend in May 2012 and the prices are 500+ just for the flight, so that's why we looked into the charter....
Well it was exciting while it lasted, still going just figuring out another way and crossing our fingers that the prices drop a lot. I saw today that flight center has two night and round trip flights for I think under 600 total so maybe a deal like this will be available closer to the date :)

West Jet has many sales - sign up to receive notifications, and prices are lower sometimes at midnight versus midday even!

You can also check for flight/hotel packages - a couple of friends of mine went in February for $450 - flight and hotel, taxes in for 4 days.  Check out itravel 2000 or flight centre for packages or check with a travel agent.  Sometimes, if you get those daily deals, you can get something like that too.

ETA - forgot to mention - that the price I listed was for accomodations at the Bellagio.
