The hook and loop closure on my dress broke.

I am in my sister's wedding on saturday. I just picked up my dress from being altered today. I tried it on again when I got home to be sure it fit right. When I zipped it up the little clousre on top broke. So now there is a gap at the top of the zipper. You can't notice it very much but I am now afraid that it will slowly unzip itself throughout the day without my knowing it. I don't know how to sew and I don't know anybody else that does. Is there anything I can do to fix this without sewing knowledge?

Do you have a good dry cleaners? They can do minor repairs like this really fast. My cleaners will sew on a button or fix a zipper in an hour. (Yes, I've had them fix my zipper on my lunch break before.)Otherwise, go with a safety pin or fabric tape.

Have you tried talking to the salon where you had it altered? Do they have seamstresses on the premesis, or do they send out the dresses? If they have them, ask if they will fix it quickly. If not, and the dry cleaners doesn't work out, you could look up a local seamstress in the yellow pages. It's a very easy fix.

Most dry cleaners could do this or honestly a hook /loop is like 6 stiches to install and no harder tehn a button is tehre anyone in your life that owns a needle and thread and can teach you this very very basic thing?
