What would you do? Out of curiosity? Would you mind?

I would mind, but wouldn't do anything.  But only if it was 100% white.

I would totally mind. I wouldn't say anything, but they sure as hell will be getting the awkward stares from all of my other guests.

I'd go bridezilla on this issue I'm afraid. Now as for what I'd do, hmmmm.. I'd probably send someone over to tell them how rude their choice of outfit is unless ofcourse the little lady is 80 years old then I'd just suck it up. Is that bad?

I'd throw her in the pool.. but if I were you, smear some red velvet on her if she's not an old lady.. ;)

    LMFAO!!!

I agree with Kitty. Red velvet sounds like the best plan. Even if she's 80.

I'd be pissed as hell! I know what I'd like to do in that situation but don't know how it would play out in real life.

Ugh, it happened to me. One of DH's aunts that I'd just met for the night before. Full-on white jacket and long dress. I didn't say anything - she took the bus over and it was too far to go back and change. All my friends noticed and were appalled. The BP discussed it briefly that night and everyone talked about it the next day. When we were looking through the photobooth pics with the in laws, I mentioned how I couldn't believe she wore white. MIL goes, but she wore that to her daughter's wedding and it looked so nice! Um, I'm not her daughter!! I still get irritated looking at those pics. Luckily I took none with her and I don't think she made the album...

whoa. I was only kidding. I didn't know people actually had the gonads to do this. That sucks. I think I would definetly not let her make the album either. I see my red velvet is def. comming in handy!

My MIL wore white at my wedding(on purpose) and I didn't care one bit. The party still went on and we had a great laugh at her expense afterwards.

Ok, I'll step out on an unpopular limb here and say that I really didn't care if anyone wore white at my wedding. I don't know why it's such a big deal. No one is going to mistake that woman in white for you (your dress is 50 billion times better anyway ) and they aren't going to take the attention off of you (you are the one up front and the person who most of the days very public rituals revolve around...) so why does it matter? Now if someone showed up in a bikini, some sort of neon green outragous outfit, or showed up dressed as a swan or something (ala bjork at the academy awards that one year) THAT would be a different story.

In the Brazilian culture wearing white to any celebration is a good thing. People wear a certain color to depict what their wishes are. For example, on New Years Eve, some people wear red if they want romance in the year to come. Or if they want to become wealthy in the new year they wear green. Wearing white means a new begin, a fresh start. Wearing white to a Brazilian wedding means you wish the new couple a happy new life together. Since my FI's family are all Brazilian I would not be surprised to find several people wearing white. FI even wants to wear all white but hopefully not a dress... LOL

I'm brazillian and I still wouldn't want my family wearing white. Costums change especially while in the US.

I actually agree with Melinda & wouldn't care one bit... lol. But I never really cared about those certain situations, so I'm not a good person to ask. lol

it wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't a MOTHER OF THE BRIDE dress. my mommy looked hot in black, thank you very much.it's just not proper etiquette, even if the bride's white dress is much hotter. :)

I agree with citytoshore...it's not proper etiquette...I went to my friend's wedding and one of her friend's wore white and she did ask them about it in a jovial way...her friend got the point!
