which dress?

1st of all...thanks you cvl105 for telling me how to do this, hopefully it works! I am trying to decide between two different dresses, which are VERY different.  I thought for sure I wanted lace but then I found this other one...let me know what you think.  Or, if you have any other suggestions, you can tell me that too. Thank you!!!Dress #1:http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz238/das710/1front.jpghttp://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz238/das710/1back.jpgDress #2:http://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz238/das710/2front.jpghttp://i831.photobucket.com/albums/zz238/das710/2back.jpg

Re: which dress?

  • I love the lace dress, LOVE it.
  • I like both...I think it depends on what look you are going for...more elegant and classic or fun/whimsical/summery
  • oh wow, talk about two completely different dresses!  What kind of a venue are you getting married at? daytime/nighttime?

  •  The wedding is in the summer and its pretty traditional (church and reception hall.) I know, they are so different!  It's drivin me nuts, they are so difficult to compare. Thank you for your quick feedback.
  • Although #2 is beautiful, I think it would make a better reception dress than a church dress. It's not very traditional.  With that being said, however, I think you could still wear it for a church wedding if it's ultimately the one you fall in love with.

  • They are both so different.  And both look amazing on you.  I agree that it depends on what look you are going for - traditional and elegant, or modern and sexy.If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with #1, I love the lace.
  • I'd go with #1. I really don't like the funky rhinestones on #2. The overall shape of the dress looks great on you, but I just think the neckline looks weird and I *really* don't like the back. #1 looks a lot classier. If #2 had a different type of jeweled neckline, I'd be more on board with it.

  • I like dress #1 better and also how you look in it better!

  • I think the lace ( 1st dress ) look better in you.
  • #1. I love lace. I don't know why, but #2 looks sort of like a prom dress to me.
  • You're right when you say they're differnt.  I would ask 1st what type of event are you having?  I think that should influence you decision a little bit. I think #1 is more traditional, and #2 I think would work better for an outside summer wedding.  I think #1 is more flattering on you as well.
  • I like #1 I love the back of #2, but I'm not crazy about the detailing on the front. =)
  • #1 - much classier. I think #2 is too revealing and not appropriate.
  • # 2 - It's different! I love unique dresses that no other bride will have anything like it. Too often I see dresses similar to # 1 in my area!(Not that it isn't a fabulous gown, it's gorgeous too!)
  • #1.  Dress 2 is fun but I agree with PP--it looks like more of a reception dress...and I don't think it is really appropriate for a church.
  • I tried on dress #2!! I loved it..loved the back loved the way that the fabric felt..but ultimatly I decided not to get it because it was a bit to revealing for me. I think it would work for a destination wedding or a beach wedding..but not for a church wedding..I wish I had a fancy event to wear it too...Dress #1 looks amazing on you! It really flatters your figure so I vote two hands up for dress #1..JMO
  • Honestly, I think your figure looks much better in dress 2.  I understand that dress 1 is quite large, but still.  It's just not right.  And plain.  Man is that dress plain.  I think you should keep looking really.  I think you can find a better compromise between those two.
  • Number 1, I think number 2 is more of a DW dress.
  • #1 I LOVE!  Who is the designer?  I am an all lace girl so I am biased, but I agree with pp about #2 looking promy-
  • #1 definitely.
  • THANK YOU EVERYONE for your opinions, it's extremely helpful.dress #1 is demetrios and dress #2 is maggie sottero.I know dress 1 is plain.  I was thinking of maybe adding a sash or something under the bust line?  Thank you again!!!!!!
  • I agree w/ some of the PP in thinking the first one is a little more appropriate for church. You can always add on some bling to the belt maybe a great broach or something. However I DO love the back of the second dress!!! They are so different it makes a true comparison a little more difficult.
  • I'd go with #1. I like both but I think the front of #2 is ugly it makes you look flat chested in the picture. Like pp said, I'd keep looking!! I think you'll find something between the two that you'll LOVE! GL!!

  • I really love number 1!!! It is so beautiful and elegant! The other one also looks beautiful on you...tough choice. My first reaction was to say number 1 and then I saw that you are having a church wedding so I say definitely number 1!
  • If I have to choose I would choose #1.  I love lace and I think it's really pretty. #2 is also fabulous and I have seen it and admired it in the Maggie magazine ads.  It does seem too revealing for a chuch and just wouldn't work with a bolero.  I think maybe you should look for a lace dress with a little bling. :)  I tried on some La Sposa, San Patrick and Pronovias dresses that are all lace w/a little bling.  (La Sposa Frontera is the only one I can remember off hand.) Either way you will look fab!
  • I agree with one of the pp's...to keep looking.  Sorry :(I love lace dresses, but not this one.  And I don't like the blingy stuff on dress #2.
