Sea Pines Resort HHI

Hi Everyone, We have booked our wedding with the Sea Pines Resort. I was wondering if anyone is also planning their wedding with the Sea Pines or if anyone has ever been to a wedding there. Just looking for any tips or feedback. I am planning from NY, NY and have never seen it in person so any information would be helpful. Also, does anyone have recommendations for hair and makeup, flowers, photographer? Thank you much for your help.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm also a NYC bride planning her HHI wedding (without going down 1st) so I know just how hard it can be!! If you don't mind me asking-what made you finally settle on Sea Pines?? I'm also looking at that resort-I just thought it was more secluded from the rest of the island (might actually be a good thing though).  Right now i'm considering the Westin-just trying to get an idea from someone who is going through the same process as me! Congrats again!

Hi nycbride2011, Congrats on your engagement!  Well  I researched some other places on the island too (The Westin, Palmetto Dunes..) and for some reason I kept coming back to the Sea Pines.  I also got good feedback from another girl on the message board who is planning her wedding from New York at the Sea Pines.  I requested some photos of the reception room (Plantation Club) from the Sea Pines and really liked the way the room looked.  Of course it's really difficult to make a decision from websites and pictures but I just went with it.  Also, the food options sound great to me!  I hope it's as nice as it looks from the pictures!  Good luck to you and let me know if you have any other questions.

That's great!I'm so happy that you picked your reception location! That's the hardest task i'm facing right now!  Are you having your rehersal dinner at the sea pines as well?I'm thinking about doing a bbq set up at whatever resort i finally end up going with; but i'm also looking to see if the prices are better to have it at any of the local restaurants plus that will give my guests a chance to eat outside the hotel!

Nycbride2011, Yes, I am very excited that we finally decided on the Sea Pines.  We will probably go there for a weekend and visit with all of the vendors to be sure everything is what we want.  I have not thought about the rehearsal dinner yet.  But, I will probably have it at a restaurant on the island.

Hi nycbride2011,Congrats.  I didn't use Sea Pines Resort, but went with the Westin.  Sea Pines was a close second, but i'm sure I would've been happy with them as well.  I can recommend  A floral Affair who I went with for flowers,  I went with Make up by Shauna in Hilton Head she was great www.makeupbyshauna.com .  I went with Chi Phototography in Charleston who amazing  www.ChildCreations.com. Just in case you need a caterer Sandstone Catering.  I love Hilton Head and you made a great choice.  Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!!!

Hi elynden, I am getting married in Hilton Head and having my reception in the Plantation Club room at Sea Pines. I visited last fall and took pictures of the plantation room if you want me to email them to you. The food is incredible and we are really happy with everything so far. We decided to hire a planner since I am in NY and it was difficult for me to plan from here. Also we are having our rehearsal dinner at the house my family is renting to save some money. Hi everyone... We are also in nyc and planning our wedding in hilton head... at sea pines in may 2010. We went to hilton head and back in one day and quickly looked at sea pines and the westin. Sounds like everyone has made their decisions on the venue, but I'll mention why we chose sea pines in case anyone else comes across this. 1) we didn't like the ballrooms in either place. we liked the plantation club at sea pines and the outdoor area at the westin. music has to stop by 10pm outdoors, which basically made the decision for us right there. 2) sea pines was more charming whereas the westin was more of a typical resort feel 3) we liked the options for accomodations for our guests at SP 4)diane was really helpful at SP 5) we were probably a little biased bc we really liked SP based on our online research before we went down thereif you like the ballroom feel or don't mind stopping music early, the westin is also a good choice... and there is definitely some benefit to having all of your guests stay close together in one spot and have all of the food/pool/beach right there. things are a bit more spread out at sea pines. As for other vendors, we went with Allison Reisz photography and currently trying to figure out the band/dj options. We want to do a band, but its so hard to book one without being able to see them live. Anyone else going through this? Has anyone heard anything about the Travis Allison Band? We are looking for more of a rock cover band and planning on doing dj/ipod playlist of hiphop/dance/top40 for the last 45 min or so.Anyone looking at sea pines or want to discuss sea pines topics... feel free to contact me!
