Hi ladies - I've been mainly a lurker on the board butmy wedding is in less than 3 weeks and I'm in need of some MAJOR advice.Like everyone, we're on a budget and we're feeling pretty maxed out in the final weeks of wedding prep.  We originally decided that we didn't need a wedding videographer and could do without.  But yesterday morning, I woke up and had a feeling that I would really regret not having one.  It's all I've been thinking about for the last 2 days!Maybe it's wedding jitters since I'm generally worried that I'm forgetting to do something, but I think it also has to do with the fact that we went to another wedding over the weekend and have spent a lot of time with FI's grandparents, who are always reminiscing about wedding, etc.  It seems like we'll want to capture every second of the day with photos AND video.  Plus, i read online that not having a videographer is often a bride's #1 regret.I already called around a few places and there are still some with availability.  But, I talked to FI last night and he thinks we'll remember the wedding just fine without dropping another $1K.  :-)I'm hoping to get someadvice on whether i should just drop this or find a way to make it happen.  Ladies who were married, did you have a videographer?  if not, do you regret it?  are others planning on doing this?  Why or why not?Also, has anyone found a great deal on a person in Indy? i know that some peopel have relatives man the camera, which i'm also thinking about doing...but I'm worried about the editing.TIA and Happy Wednesday!!

    We found a great deal on our videographer, but he is out of Evansville.  I'm not sure if there would be a travel fee associated, but it's worth a shot.www.smvid.comHis name is Dennis Allyn and contact him at 812-431-4903

    You might check out the local universities too. I found a graduating student from IU who is a telecommunications major and does some pretty awesome work.....for a whole lot less!

    If you have a relative man the camera(s), then you can take the raw footage to a special store (I live in Louisville and we have Video Kitchen here) and they'll edit it for you.  You're not paying right now, plus it 's much cheaper.  I'm sure there's something like that where you are.

    If your that worried about it, I would ask a family member to man that camera for you! Something is better than nothing. Our church had video included with our ceremony package so, it worked out great for us. I like being able to watch it if I want and to see what I missed (which is pretty much the whole prelude, since your the last one to walk in)GL!

    thanks so much for all of the suggestions, everyone!  Married, my finance said the same thing - if i'm that worried about it, we should find a way to make it work.  i'm going to keep looking into frugal options and i really appreciate all the tips!

    I love my videographer- he's super sweet and has been great to work with.  He has taped many weddings at the church where my good friend is a wedding coordinator and she just raved about him- which is why I chose him. You can reach him at www.bulldogmedia.biz and he's on Facebook.He had lots of options for us to control the cost.  I totally sympathize with you!

    We are having one.  Every person that I talked to said this would be the only area that they would not have skipped, and would actually pay more for.  They all said that they capture the sentimental, and the funny, moments that a camera cannot.  Hope this helps!
