rehearsal dinner guest list

are you supposed to invite the bridal party's significant others to the rehearsal dinner? And if they are just bringing a date (not necesarily a SO) to the wedding, is that person supposed to be invited? i have no idea what ettiquette is for the RD!

    We invited significant others of the bridal party to the RD, but only if it was someone they were dating, married to, etc.  We did the same thing for the wedding though.  The only people we invited with dates to the wedding if they were single were people that wouldn't really know many other people or were coming in from out of town.  Single local friends or even out of town college friends that aren't dating anyone were all invited solo.

    We are inviting significant others to the RD (be it married or dating) but no friend of a friend kind of thing. I dont know if there is a rule - I think it is more of a personal prefrence. Actually all etquette is personal prefrence if you really think about it......lol.....just depends on how much drama you want.

    Yes, I think you're technically "supposed to." Especially if the significant other is the WP member's spouse, fiance/fiancee, or serious girl/boyfriend. If the member of the WP is just bringing a "date" to the wedding, I think it would be nice to invite the date to the RD as well, especially if they had to travel from out of town or won't know anyone else at the wedding.

    IMO, yes.We invited the spouses/SOs/dates of bridal party members. If cost is a factor and your list ends up being more than you can manage at the venue you've chosen, I'd select a different venue, even if it means doing a backyard bbq thing or pizza party.
