Hotel or Home on Wedding Night?

To those of you that live with your fi, are you planning on getting a hotel room on your wedding night or just going back to your place? We bought a house and have lived together for over 2 years, so I don't know if we should just come home that night, or if that would make it not feel special.

We are planning to come back to our home on our wedding night. We just didn't want to spend more money on a hotel room since we will be staying in hotel all week on our honeymoon following our wedding. We figured our place will be just as special since it's just us anyways!

We are getting a hotel for the night. We have a few people staying at our place the night of the wedding. We both decided that we wanted to "get away" so thats what were doing.

well, his uncle keeps trying to buy us a hotel room, but I think it makes way more sense to stay home. You have to get packed, take your things to the hotel, check in, go to the wedding, go to the hotel, get food if your hungry again, go t o bed, wake up early and check out to go home. I think it'd be more comfortable to come home to our fur/feather/scale babies and enjoy being an official family. but on the other hand a lot of people think its pretty romantic to have a jacuzzi bathtub and a nice clean room that you don't have to take care of.

We are going to get a hotel room for the night. We live together as well, and I have kids at home...so we've been a "family" for several years now. We want a night to be "husband and wife". No kids...no cleaning...no cooking...no solicitation phone calls. Also, we're not taking our honeymoon immediately following the wedding, so it'll be nice to get away, even if it's only for one night at first.

We get a room included with our package.  It will be nice to just go right upstairs to our room after the reception is over.  I feel like it's a little more special than just going home where we spend every other night together.

We are getting a hotel. we have lived together for 5years we just think it will be different and more exciting, instead of going home to the same old same old. And..... his brother and his wife are going to be staying at our house that night. I dont think it is a must do, but if you have it in your budget you should go for it!!!

We stayed in a hotel- we wound up being upgraded to a suite. Our wedding was back in Cleveland where we are from so the alternative was staying at one of our parents' houses. Which was obviously NOT going to happen, lol!
