Ceremony Details

Did you put the actual events of the ceremony in order in the program (like what happens first, then next, after that, etc)...in which case did you discuss this with your rabbi beforehand... and/or did you just put what certain things mean like the chuppah, ketubah, etc. I guess I'm just confused a little... should I be discussing with my rabbi the order of events? We are having a destination wedding and have only spoken to our rabbi a few times.

We're putting a copy of the entire service, with transliterations and translations of the Hebrew, into the program, so it can be used as a mini-prayerbook.  Then again, we wrote our service ourselves, and had it approved by the rabbi.

We are not. We are doing an explaination of the events of a Jewish wedding but not an actual layout of the wedding events.(if that makes any sense, ha)We are also listing the names of the g-parents, pog, pob, bridal party, groomesmen and song choices.

We had an explanation of the events, but, they were in the general order they would happen during the wedding.

We are going to put general stuff regarding what happens before the ceremony (i.e. bedeken, ketubah signing, etc.); but I will also include the actual marriage service.  Much of this won't make the program any larger than most.  Of course, we are also going to add the processional info.Of course, my rabbi will view it over but he won't really care what we put since he'll like the idea that we are trying to explain as much to our non-Jewish and non-observant friends as possible.  He's a great rabbi!

Ours was more of an explanation of what happens in a general Jewish wedding rather than an order of the events, but we had a Conservative ceremony so everything matched pretty closely.
